The Ahmedabad Dholera Greenfield Expressway, a 109.019 km project under Bharatmala Pariyojana, is improving connectivity between Ahmedabad, Bhavnagar, and the Dholera Special Investment Region. Built at a cost of INR 5,800 crore, the expressway has reduced travel time significantly, cutting journeys such as Ahmedabad to Dholera to about 45 minutes. Currently open for testing, it is already easing travel for commuters while also supporting economic activity in the region. Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power-DDL) has reviewed its summer preparedness strategy, projecting peak electricity demand of around 2,622 MW in North Delhi, up from 2,410 MW last year. KPI Green Energy has reported a rise in its total energised capacity to 965 megawatt peak (MWp) following the addition of new renewable energy assets earlier this week. A hyperscale data centre project by AdaniConneX in Pune adopted steel-reinforced AAC wall panels from Magicrete to meet tight construction timelines and structural requirements. Covering nearly 400,000 sq ft of wall area within a total built-up of about 450,000 sq ft, the project replaced conventional masonry with engineered panel systems. Indian Railways has expanded its train services and fleet over the past five years to meet growing passenger demand. Between 2021-22 and February this year, 1,024 new trains were introduced, 907 existing services extended, and the frequency of 168 trains increased. A total of 4,651 coaches were added, focusing on non AC seating for low- and middle-income travellers. Passenger numbers in general and unreserved classes rose from 553 crore in 2022-23 to 651 crore in 2024-25. Nearly 74,800 special train trips were also operated to handle peak travel periods.Read more
