RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has been awarded an annual maintenance contract (AMC) worth INR 140.71 crore by the Ministry of Defence. The work order, received earlier this week, will be executed through January 2031 and is classified as a services order under the AMC terms. RailTel clarified that neither its promoters nor promoter group companies hold any stake in the awarding entity, confirming it is not a related party transaction. Western Railway has completed extensive improvement works on Line 3 at Vadodara Railway Station to improve safety, punctuality, and passenger movement. The project included extending platform number 3 by 50 metres, laying a 400 metre water hydrant pipeline, constructing a 300 metre central drain, and repairing a 380 metre existing drain to tackle long-standing waterlogging. Track strengthening over 790 metres involved deep screening, ballast restoration, sleeper replacement, and track geometry correction for speeds up to 30 km/h. Indian Railways is set to operate the Nagercoil Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express via Thiruvananthapuram, strengthening coastal connectivity between Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. The weekly overnight service will connect major cities including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, and Kannur before reaching Mangaluru. Designed with modern Amrit Bharat Express rakes and non-AC coaches, the service aims to provide a comfortable and practical travel option while easing congestion on existing trains. ASF Insignia, an integrated commercial IT office campus located in Vatsal Valley, Gurugram, has secured an equity and quasi-equity capital commitment of approximately INR 1,250 crore from Mumbai-based Alpha Alternatives. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has completed the reconstruction of the Bellasis flyover in record time, finishing about four months earlier than initially planned. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has announced the temporary closure of one of its three runways for nearly five months beginning February 16, 2026, to undertake critical resurfacing and infrastructure upgrades. Despite the shutdown, the airport will maintain its scheduled daily air traffic movement capacity through coordinated planning with airlines and air traffic control. The rehabilitation programme includes resurfacing the runway, building a new rapid exit taxiway, and installing an upgraded Instrument Landing System to enhance safety and operational resilience.
