Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd posted a 21 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to INR 3,043 crore for the December quarter of FY26, driven by higher cargo handling revenues. Quarterly revenue grew 22 per cent to INR 9,705 crore, with domestic ports contributing the majority. For the April-December period, net profit rose 18 per cent to INR 9,474 crore. Following the consolidation of NQXT Australia, the company raised its FY26 revenue and EBITDA guidance and maintained its cargo handling and capex outlook.Read more

Construction on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor has crossed another structural milestone with the completion of a mountain tunnel in Palghar district, Maharashtra. The tunnel, built using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method, forms part of a larger cluster of tunnels being developed in the region for India's first bullet train project. This achievement follows a similar breakthrough reported in the same district recently and reflects steady progress on critical civil works. Two passenger aircraft operated by Air India and IndiGo made contact on the ground at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport earlier this week during routine taxiing operations. The incident involved the wingtips of both aircraft while one flight was preparing for departure and the other was taxiing after landing. All passengers and crew on board both flights were safe. The aircraft were taken out of service for inspection, and aviation authorities have begun a review of the circumstances surrounding the incident.Read more

The Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation has awarded the first construction-related consultancy contract for the East-West Corridor of the Lucknow Metro under Phase 1B, marking a key step towards project implementation. The Detailed Design Consultant contract for Line-2 has been awarded to a joint venture between AYESA Ingenieria Arquitectura SAU and AYESA India Pvt Ltd, following a competitive bidding process. Valued at INR 15.90 crore, the contract covers detailed design work for civil, architectural, electrical, mechanical and traction systems across both elevated and underground sections of the corridor. The East-West Corridor will span over 11 km, connecting Charbagh Railway Station with Vasant Kunj through Old Lucknow, and forms part of a larger metro expansion approved earlier as part of the city's urban transport development plans.Read more

NTPC Green Energy Limited and Assago Industries have signed an MoU to develop India's first large-scale green urea production facility at the Pudimadaka Green Hydrogen Hub in Andhra Pradesh. NGEL will supply green ammonia, renewable power and CO to support clean urea manufacturing. The project targets reducing India's dependence on imported urea, which currently stands at 8-10 million tonnes annually. Designed within a 2.5 million tonnes per annum green chemicals hub, the initiative supports fertiliser self-reliance, decarbonisation and the national clean energy agenda.Read more

Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) has started construction of the Vadsar bridge to maintain connectivity for low-lying residential areas along the Vishwamitri River, which are often cut off even during moderate water rise. The bridge, approved by the civic body's elected representatives and costing INR 31 crore, is expected to be completed in about a month. Past flooding incidents left residents stranded, with rescue teams on standby. French shipping major CMA CGM and US investment firm Stonepeak have created a joint venture, United Ports LLC, with CMA CGM holding a 75% majority and operational control, and Stonepeak acquiring a 25% stake for USD 2.4 billion. The venture will include 10 major CMA CGM-operated terminals across six countries, including the Nhava Sheva Free Port Terminal in India. Stonepeak may invest an additional USD 3.6 billion in future projects. The deal is set to close in the second half of 2026, pending regulatory approvals and Union government security clearance for Nhava Sheva.Read more

Odisha is establishing India's first commercial airport drone test corridor by partnering with local startup BonV Aero. The Rangeilunda Airport in Ganjam district will be transformed into a National UAV Test and Innovation Corridor, enabling live trials of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in low-altitude airspace up to 1,000 metres. The project supports BVLOS operations, indigenous research, and advanced UAV development. It also includes a dedicated UAV training centre and a flying training organisation, aiming to equip youth with aviation and drone skills while promoting defence, disaster response, and commercial drone applications.Read more
