Commuters traveling between Mumbai and Pune can anticipate smoother journeys with the upcoming completion of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway "missing link" project. This critical 13.3-kilometer stretch is slated to be operational by March 2025, marking a substantial improvement in travel time and safety along this busy route. Currently 85% finished, the project's complexity-featuring a viaduct, tunnels, and a 100-meter-high cable-stayed bridge-has caused delays. The Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) ensures meticulous planning to uphold quality and safety standards. Once operational, the link will bypass a congested ghat section, offering time savings of 20-30 minutes and allowing speeds up to 120 kmph. Enhanced safety and efficiency will benefit commuters, businesses, and tourism alike, fostering economic growth and regional connectivity.Read more

Citizens, who were initially hopeful, have become frustrated as enforcement efforts weakened, with BBMP marshals withdrawn in December. RTI responses revealed that out of 72 buildings, only 34 had plan approvals, with 28 having deviations. The lack of action has led to continued construction of new illegal buildings, highlighting the city's administrative failures and possible collusion with violators.Read more
