The Delhi government has started implementing the Centre's Rah-Veer scheme to encourage citizens to help road accident victims during the golden hour. Under the scheme, individuals who ensure that a seriously injured person reaches a hospital in time will receive INR 25,000 and a certificate of appreciation. The initiative builds on existing Good Samaritan protections under the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019. Work on the Chilavannoor Bund Road bridge in Kochi has resumed after months of delay, with authorities now targeting completion by May 2026. The arrival of the 90-metre central steel span, the longest for any road bridge in the city, has enabled construction to move forward. The project, awarded to Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society and funded by KIIFB, faced setbacks due to protests, legal hurdles and fabrication delays. The Uttar Pradesh government has sanctioned INR 9 crore for the installation of 1,338 high-resolution CCTV cameras at 297 key traffic junctions across 57 districts that are not covered under existing smart city projects or the Integrated Traffic Management System (ITMS). The approval, issued by the state home department earlier this month, is aimed at strengthening traffic monitoring, enforcement and road safety in smaller cities and district headquarters. Under the plan, 150 major intersections will be equipped with five cameras each, while 147 T-junctions will receive four cameras per location. The project includes supporting infrastructure such as network video recorders, uninterrupted power supply systems, poles, junction boxes and high-speed internet connectivity. Night-time traffic on the Noida-Delhi Direct Flyway will remain affected as resurfacing work continues on the Noida-to-Delhi carriageway. Vehicles heading towards Delhi are being diverted between late night and early morning hours to facilitate repairs. The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has directed Noida International Airport to allow licensed telecom service providers to install and operate their own in-building network infrastructure under the Telecommunications Act, 2023 and the Right of Way Rules, 2024. The Maharaj Prithu Flyover in Guwahati is set to be inaugurated on March 10 by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. The nearly 5 km-long flyover connects Ambari with Bamunimaidam and is expected to ease traffic congestion along the busy MRD Road corridor. Delhi has operationalised its first dedicated green waste processing plant near ITO to handle horticulture waste generated from road maintenance and public landscaping. The facility will process branches, shrubs and pruning residue into compost for reuse in government gardens and green belts. Southern Railway has introduced additional EMU shuttle services between Guduvanchery and St Thomas Mount to manage commuter inconvenience caused by revised suburban train operations linked to redevelopment work at Chennai Egmore station. Groundwork has started for a INR 1,200 crore e-methanol plant at Kandla Port in Gujarat, marking India's first port-based facility of this kind. The project is being developed by Assam Petro-Chemicals Limited in partnership with Deendayal Port Authority. The proposed unit will have a capacity of 150 tonnes per day and will come up on 150 acres of allotted land.
