East Central Railway is planning smart parking hubs at six stations in the Danapur division, with a total capacity for 21,500 vehicles. Stations like Patna Junction and Danapur will have capacities ranging from 1,500 to 6,000 vehicles. The DPR, currently in preparation, includes modern amenities such as air-conditioned vending halls, escalators, lifts, WiFi, digital payments, real-time tracking, and CCTV surveillance. Raigad district authorities have imposed a time-bound ban on heavy vehicles along the Mandwa Jetty-Alibag coastal road to reduce accidents and ease congestion. Andhra Pradesh has approved AP-LInC, a dedicated logistics corporation that will coordinate ports, airports, roads, inland waterways and cold-storage facilities under one system to reduce logistics cost and improve efficiency. The corporation will operate as a government holding company once a managing director is appointed and will focus on investment, infrastructure upgrades and better connectivity. District-level logistics cells will also be set up to support development in smaller and remote regions. The Asian Development Bank has sanctioned a USD 400 million results-based lending program to improve road connectivity across 34 districts in Maharashtra, focusing on the climate-sensitive and economically lagging Marathwada and Vidarbha regions. The Central Government has amended the Delhi Development Authority's Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) policy, expanding the definition of the 'TOD Zone' through a gazette notification issued earlier this week. China has agreed to invest about USD 1.4 billion to modernise the TAZARA railway in partnership with Zambia and Tanzania. The decision was finalised during China's Premier Li Qiang's recent visit to Zambia. The upgrade will cover the 1,860 km line, including tracks, bridges, tunnels, stations, and signalling systems. Freight capacity is expected to rise from roughly 100,000 tonnes a year to 2.4 million tonnes. The Andhra Pradesh government has approved INR 27 crore for restoring four rain-water outfall canals connected to the upcoming Bhogapuram International Airport in Vizianagaram district. These canals OT1, OT2, OT4 and OT5 require desilting and improvements to handle storm-water flow from the airport site. The funds will be drawn from the HUDCO-supported INR 1,000 crore loan pool. The Water Resources Department will carry out the works. The government also requires the airport's master plan to include harvesting of at least 50% of on-site storm-water. The Odisha cabinet has approved the Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy 2025 to position the state as a major hub for IT, R&D, analytics, finance and support services. The policy focuses on world-class infrastructure, a skilled workforce and progressive incentives, with plans to attract over INR 1,000 crore in investments and set up five GCC hubs across two major corridors. These hubs are expected to create more than 50,000 jobs. The policy offers land concessions, rental support, power subsidies, SGST reimbursements and sector-specific incentives. The PMRDA has approved an INR 156 crore plan to upgrade key roads in Khed taluka, particularly around the busy Chakan industrial area. The project includes widening and resurfacing seven PMRDA roads and five Major District Roads, expanding widths from 3.75 m to between 5.5 m and 10 m, with work targeted for completion in one year. To enable this, over 428 encroachments have been cleared, including 347 buildings. The initiative forms part of a larger INR 558.12 crore road development programme covering more than 40 km in and around Chakan. PMRDA has also begun land surveys for the proposed Chakan bypass, which will help divert heavy vehicles and ease local congestion.Read more

Indian Railways launched two new MEMU services connecting Delhi Junction-Shamli and Delhi Shahdara-Shamli to improve mobility for commuters, students, farmers, and professionals. The inauguration was led by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and MoS Jayant Chaudhary at Baraut station. Shamli station is being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme at a cost of INR 25 cr. Since 2014, Uttar Pradesh has added 5,272 km of rail tracks, fully electrified its lines, built over 1,460 flyovers/bridges, and installed lifts, escalators, and Wi-Fi across many stations.Read more

The Andhra Pradesh government has launched a INR 66,523-crore urban infrastructure acceleration mission under the PPP model, targeting major upgrades across 12 priority sectors by 2029. Delhi authorities have intensified their action against construction-related air pollution, imposing fines totaling INR 2.36 crore and shutting 48 non-compliant construction sites. Over 200 show-cause notices were issued to projects violating dust-control norms. The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has inspected more than 1,200 large construction sites and mapped nearly 4,900 localities, identifying 33 areas requiring immediate action.
