The Hubballi-Dharwad Urban Development Authority (HDUDA) has extended its Local Planning Area (LPA) from 407 square kilometres to 757 square kilometres by adding 46 villages across Dharwad, Hubballi Urban, Hubballi Rural, and Kalghatagi taluks. This expansion aims to control unplanned growth, prevent illegal layouts, and ensure better infrastructure development. Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has started issuing transferable development rights (TDR) certificates to private landowners whose plots were encroached by slum dwellers. The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) is set to launch a mobile application to simplify e-khata submissions for property owners, complementing the existing online and Bengaluru One centres. The app will allow property owners and their authorised representatives to submit applications directly using essential documents such as property sale deed, tax receipts, Aadhaar number, encumbrance certificate, Bescom bill, and property photographs. Bhubaneswar has rolled out a detailed action plan to address the encroachment of around 498 acres of government land across the city.
