The Supreme Court has raised concerns over a surge in real estate disputes in Delhi-NCR and Mumbai, pointing out that thousands of homebuyers are affected by delayed possession and unresolved redevelopment cases. Major developers such as Unitech, Amrapali, Jaypee, and Supertech are among those involved in litigation. The court noted that while states like Gujarat face fewer disputes, the situation in these two regions is significant, directly affecting developers' reputations. It urged builders to address the causes of these conflicts and improve project delivery and transparency.Read more

The Himachal Pradesh Assembly has sent the Tenancy and Land Reforms (Amendment) Bill, 2025, to a Select Committee for scrutiny. The Bill proposes allowing rural houses to be leased for ten years and exempts certain sales from prior permission under Section 118 of the 1972 Act. While the government says the amendments aim to simplify processes and promote development, opposition parties warn that they could weaken protections for local farmers, agricultural land, and forest areas. The committee's review will shape the Bill's future.Read more

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy recently clarified that it has not asked financial institutions to stop lending to renewable energy projects or equipment manufacturers. The clarification came after reports suggested otherwise amid discussions around solar sector overcapacity. The ministry shared that it has only circulated information about current domestic solar PV manufacturing capacities to lenders so they can assess financing proposals more carefully. India has been expanding its renewable energy base rapidly and has already reached 50 per cent of its installed power capacity from non-fossil sources, supported by major policy initiatives and manufacturing incentives.Read more

Haryana's urban local bodies minister has directed officials in Panchkula to fast-track the allotment of residential plots and houses to poor families, reviving stalled work under state housing schemes. The municipal commissioner has been asked to clear pending cases, resolve procedural delays and ensure timely possession for eligible beneficiaries. The push follows earlier rounds in which thousands received plot-allotment letters and interim ownership certificates, though many units remained unallotted due to administrative backlogs. The directive stresses transparency, accountability and quick verification of documents, underscoring the government's broader goal of providing permanent, legally owned homes to underprivileged families as part of its housing-welfare commitments.Read more

UP RERA has informed homebuyers that 129 real estate projects developed by 14 companies are currently under the Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process, and therefore, buyers must submit their claims only to the Insolvency Resolution Professionals appointed by the NCLT. The authority explained that a moratorium under the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code is in force, which prevents RERA from conducting hearings, issuing orders, or enforcing past directions for these projects. Buyers have been advised to file claims in the prescribed IBBI forms and stay updated through their respective IRPs.Read more

These properties, spread across Action Area I and II, were found violating rules that allow commercial use of residential units only after obtaining prior approval and meeting safety norms. The authority highlighted concerns related to fire hazards, unapproved building changes and non-compliance with statutory requirements. Earlier this year, NKDA had also taken action against several other unauthorised commercial establishments. A provisional NOC system has now been introduced to regulate limited commercial use.Read more

The Andhra Pradesh Cabinet has approved the second phase of land pooling for Amaravati, allowing the APCRDA to assemble 16,666.57 acres from seven villages. The newly pooled land will support key infrastructure, including an inner ring road, a new railway station with tracks, and an international-standard sports city.
