Mahanagar Gas Ltd has outlined a capital expenditure plan of around INR 1,200-1,300 crore for the next financial year, broadly in line with current spending levels. The Magenta Line of the Delhi Metro is set to become the longest corridor in the network after planned extensions under Phase IV and Phase V (A). Once completed, the corridor will span about 89 kilometres with 65 stations, including 21 interchange points, the highest for any single line. Four interchange stations are currently operational, while the remaining will be added as new sections open. Patel Engineering Ltd has completed tunnelling work under Package II of the CIDCO Treated Water Tunnel Project in Maharashtra four months ahead of schedule. The 6.27-km package, part of the overall 28.2-km tunnel project awarded by City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Ltd (CIDCO) for INR 520 crore in June 2023, was executed in 14 months against the contracted 19 months. The company achieved a national benchmark by tunnelling 812.466 metres in January using a 3.2-metre diameter Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). The project involved underground tunnelling between Sai and Vindhane villages in Raigad district, marking a significant milestone in infrastructure execution.Read more

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved national highway projects worth over INR 11,000 crore across Maharashtra, Gujarat and Telangana, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways said. The projects include upgrading a 154.6-km stretch of NH-160A in Maharashtra at INR 3,320.38 crore under EPC mode, construction of 4-lane sections of NH-56 in Gujarat at INR 4,583.64 crore, and widening of NH-167 in Telangana at INR 3,175.08 crore under hybrid annuity mode. The Maharashtra project aligns with PM GatiShakti principles and will connect multiple economic and logistics nodes, while the Gujarat stretch is expected to reduce travel time by 40 per cent. RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has won a INR 455 crore contract from the Ministry of Railways to deploy the Kavach automatic train protection system over 1,067 route kilometres in the Jabalpur Division of West Central Railway. The project covers high-density corridors, including Itarsi-Manikpur, Satna-Rewa, the Katni complex, and other sections. Scope includes design, supply, installation, testing, commissioning, optical fibre works, towers, and related civil, track, and electrical work under an EPC model, to be completed within 960 days. ECDS has announced plans to set up its first Indian manufacturing facility in Ujjain with an initial investment of INR 780 crore, in partnership with three South Korean companies.
