The luxury marina at Port City Colombo has officially entered its construction phase, marking a major development in Sri Lanka's tourism and maritime landscape. The project is a joint venture between Browns Investments PLC, China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), and LOLC Holdings, covering 33,776 square meters with an estimated cost of USD 120 million. Scheduled for completion by 2027, the marina will accommodate up to 200 mid-to-large-sized vessels and feature restaurants, retail spaces, and entertainment facilities, aimed at attracting high-end tourists and promoting Colombo as a regional hub for luxury yachting.Read more

Mangaluru Smart City Limited (MSCL) has reopened the process to invite bids for an integrated bus terminal at Pumpwell Junction, a project initially estimated at INR 495 crore. Previous attempts to attract developers failed, mainly due to the high cost of a proposed underpass connecting the terminal to NH-66. The terminal will feature inter-city, intra-city, and intra-state bus services along with parking, commercial spaces, F&B units, and other passenger amenities. MSCL is revising costs and project scope to encourage bids and ensure feasible development.Read more

The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has requested an additional 8,812 square metres of land from the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) for the construction of the Dharuhera station under the Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project. This revision increases the total land requirement from 16,286 square metres to 20,985 square metres. The redesign aims to enhance multimodal connectivity and ensure a 9-metre access road to the local fire station. The Haryana government has approved the revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the corridor.Read more

Assam is set to construct its first underwater tunnel, connecting Numaligarh and Gohpur at an estimated cost of INR 6,000 crore. The Detailed Project Report (DPR) has been completed, and the project is awaiting Union Cabinet approval. Spanning approximately 33.7 km, the tunnel aims to enhance connectivity and holds strategic significance due to its proximity to the Arunachal Pradesh border. The Indian government is constructing 25 greenfield expressways covering 10,000 km, at an estimated cost of INR 6 lakh crore, aiming to improve national connectivity. The Zojila Tunnel, which will provide all-weather access to Ladakh, is 75-80% complete. Monetising road projects could generate INR 15 lakh crore for further infrastructure development. Investments in expressways and economic corridors have lowered logistics costs from 16% to 10%, with further reductions expected. Patna's metro services began with the inauguration of the Blue Line's first phase by Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar. The 3.6-kilometer elevated stretch links ISBT, Zero Mile, and Bhoothnath stations and is part of Corridor-II, which will cover 14.5 kilometers in total. Juniper Green Energy has partnered with Tata Power to develop a 70-MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy project in Maharashtra. The facility, combining solar, wind, and battery energy storage, aims to provide reliable power during peak demand and support grid stability. Developed through Juniper Green Sigma Eight Private Limited, the project will have around 180 MWp renewable capacity and 280 MWh of battery storage, with electricity supply expected to begin in September 2027. The Punjab government has taken a key step in advancing the Aerotropolis project in Mohali by notifying a Social Impact Assessment (SIA) for 3,553 acres across Blocks E to J. The assessment, conducted under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition Act, will evaluate social, cultural, and economic impacts on affected communities. Landowners will receive developed residential and commercial plots under the 2021 land pooling policy.
