The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has asked property owners in the city to verify their property tax assessment details and submit objections, if any, by March 10. The civic body has opened property registers for public inspection at its six divisional offices. Around 5.90 lakh properties are currently on record. NMC has clarified that objections will be accepted only after all pending property tax dues are cleared. Nashik district handed over more than 75,000 newly built houses to rural beneficiaries on Republic Day, marking a significant milestone in government housing initiatives. Approximately 51,000 houses were built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), while around 24,000 were delivered through various state housing schemes. Beneficiaries included families from Scheduled Castes and Tribes, low income groups, widows, and persons with disabilities. The widening of Nashik's Rane Nagar vehicular underpass on the Mumbai -Agra highway is now expected to take an additional month, extending beyond the original December completion plan. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has initiated preparations for the detailed project report (DPR) to widen the Kopargaon Malegaon highway to four lanes, a key route connecting north-west Maharashtra. The Pimpalgaon Jalal toll plaza has been closed following the end of its contract, and the highway is now fully managed by NHAI. Buyers had reportedly paid the full amount and taken possession of their homes, but the builder did not execute the sale deeds.
