Trident Realty has announced plans to invest around INR 1,200 crore to develop a large-scale integrated township in Panipat, Haryana, as part of its ongoing expansion strategy. The 125-acre project, branded as Trident Parktown, will offer a mix of residential plots, independent floors, group housing and commercial spaces, targeting end-users and investors in the region. The Gurugram-based developer has already launched the first phase of the township, introducing more than 400 residential plots with sizes starting from 200 sq yd. The company cited strong demand for plotted developments in Panipat as a key driver for the project. Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) is set to undertake the second phase of development of the Vizhinjam international seaport in Kerala at an estimated cost of around INR 16,000 crore. The announcement is expected during the inauguration ceremony of phase two, to be held on Saturday evening in the presence of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The expansion is aimed at transforming Vizhinjam into the largest transhipment hub in the Indian subcontinent by adding 4.1 million TEUs to the port's existing capacity. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is aiming to reduce its overall debt to below INR 2 lakh crore by the end of the current financial year, according to a senior government official. NHAI's debt had peaked at around INR 3.5 lakh crore in 2021-22, but has since been steadily brought down following a policy decision to stop fresh borrowings. As of December 31, 2025, the authority's outstanding debt stood at INR 2,35,947 crore. The reduction has been supported by significant prepayment of liabilities, including a large portion of loans from the National Small Savings Fund. In addition, proactive refinancing and renegotiation with lenders has helped lower interest costs, resulting in substantial savings over the past two years.Read more

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has stopped work on the CG Road Mithakhali Circle revamp after the new design left only half the road width for vehicles, triggering severe traffic congestion. RailTel Corporation of India Ltd has been awarded an annual maintenance contract (AMC) worth INR 140.71 crore by the Ministry of Defence. The work order, received earlier this week, will be executed through January 2031 and is classified as a services order under the AMC terms. RailTel clarified that neither its promoters nor promoter group companies hold any stake in the awarding entity, confirming it is not a related party transaction. Western Railway has completed extensive improvement works on Line 3 at Vadodara Railway Station to improve safety, punctuality, and passenger movement. The project included extending platform number 3 by 50 metres, laying a 400 metre water hydrant pipeline, constructing a 300 metre central drain, and repairing a 380 metre existing drain to tackle long-standing waterlogging. Track strengthening over 790 metres involved deep screening, ballast restoration, sleeper replacement, and track geometry correction for speeds up to 30 km/h. GreenCell Mobility has raised USD 89 million (around INR 800 crore) in a mezzanine funding round led by the International Finance Corporation, British International Investment, and Tata Capital to scale its electric bus operations nationwide. Backed by Eversource Capital, the company currently runs over 1,200 electric buses and more than 270 charging stations. The new funds will support fleet expansion to 3,700 buses, strengthen charging infrastructure, and accelerate adoption under central government initiatives like the National E-Bus Programme and PM Seva E-Mobility, with deployments across Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and Puducherry.Read more

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) recently conducted a two-day anti-encroachment drive along Old Railway Road to support the redevelopment of Gurgaon Railway Station. Illegal shops, extended sheds, and street vendors had narrowed the approach road, causing congestion and obstructing renovation work. Around 100 shops were partially or fully cleared, and vendors near the Sabzi Mandi were instructed to operate within designated areas. Indian Railways is set to operate the Nagercoil Mangaluru Amrit Bharat Express via Thiruvananthapuram, strengthening coastal connectivity between Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka. The weekly overnight service will connect major cities including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kozhikode, and Kannur before reaching Mangaluru. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has updated the Central Motor Vehicles Rules to ensure all pending National Highway user fees are cleared before key vehicle services are granted. Under the amended rules, a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for transferring vehicle ownership or relocating a vehicle to another state will be issued only after all unpaid toll and highway user fees are settled. The rules also prevent renewal or issuance of fitness certificates and national permits if dues exist. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has announced the temporary closure of one of its three runways for nearly five months beginning February 16, 2026, to undertake critical resurfacing and infrastructure upgrades.
