SolarEdge Technologies has launched its new Research and Development campus, the India Development Center, in East Bangalore as part of its global expansion strategy. It will also support hiring across multiple technical domains, including embedded systems and hardware design. Company leaders highlighted India’s strong position in the solar and engineering sectors and noted that the new centre will enhance collaboration, innovation, and product development across its global R&D network.

SolarEdge Technologies has announced the launch of its new Research and Development campus, the India Development Center (IDC), in East Bangalore, a key hub for engineering and technology activity in the country. The facility is part of the company’s effort to expand its global R&D footprint and strengthen product development and innovation support across regions.


The new center is aimed at advancing next-generation power electronics and smart energy technologies. It is also expected to improve access to skilled engineering talent across areas such as embedded power electronics, control systems, hardware design, mechanical engineering, and integration testing. The company plans to hire engineers across multiple experience levels to support these functions.

During the inauguration, the Chief R&D Officer at SolarEdge, along with representatives from its global headquarters, highlighted that the expansion of the R&D presence in Bangalore is expected to strengthen innovation capabilities, speed up product development, and support collaboration with global talent. It was noted that the investment reflects confidence in the engineering ecosystem of the region and the company’s focus on building an integrated global R&D structure.

The Country Manager of SolarEdge India stated that India continues to be a strong and growing solar market, while also emerging as a preferred location for global engineering centres. He added that the new R&D and technology facility represents continued investment in infrastructure, talent, and innovation that will support future growth in the solar sector.

The Head of R&D at SolarEdge India expressed appreciation for the efforts of the local and global R&D teams, stating that their work in innovation and development contributed to this milestone. He further noted that the India Development Center will play an important role in advancing smart energy technologies for global customers. The company already operates in India’s photovoltaic market, offering solar and battery storage solutions for residential and commercial segments, along with support services based in Bangalore.

SolarEdge continues to offer a broad portfolio of solutions, including inverters, power optimizers, storage systems, and a cloud-based monitoring platform, supporting applications ranging from residential installations to commercial and small utility-scale projects.
