Hong Kong-based Crown Worldwide Group has launched a new logistics and records management facility in Coimbatore as part of its expansion plans in India. The company said the new development strengthens its presence in one of its key global markets and will help cater to increasing demand for integrated storage and information management solutions.
The facility has been developed on a 4.5-acre site and currently supports a phase 1 capacity of more than 468,000 Standard Carton Equivalents (SCE). The company stated that the project has been planned for future growth, with scope to increase capacity to around 720,000 SCE in the second phase through an additional 45,000 sq ft expansion without affecting existing operations.
Apart from records management and storage, the facility will also support the operations of Crown Relocations and Crown Workspace. The company said its renewing centre, focused on refurbishing and reusing workplace assets, will also operate from the location.
Jennifer Harvey, Group CEO of Crown Worldwide Group, said the company was witnessing growing demand for infrastructure support across Asian economies. She noted that India remains one of the company’s fastest-growing markets and added that the new facility would strengthen its ability to support clients with document storage, digitalisation and information management solutions.
The company said India continues to remain a major growth driver for its global business, supported by sustained demand across industries and a rising need for secure and scalable information and asset management services. It added that the launch reflects Crown Worldwide’s continued investment in long-term infrastructure in the country.
Tze Shen Kong, CEO Asia at Crown Worldwide Group, stated that the company continues to invest in markets showing long-term growth potential, with India standing out as an important market in the region. He added that the new facility strengthens the company’s ability to support clients operating both within and outside India.
Srinivas Krishnan, Regional Managing Director – South Asia at the company, said India is becoming increasingly important in Crown Worldwide’s regional growth plans. He added that the Coimbatore facility would help strengthen the company’s network while preparing for rising demand from businesses across South India.
The expansion also comes at a time when demand for organised warehousing, document storage and digital records management infrastructure is increasing across India. Growth in sectors such as banking, healthcare, manufacturing and IT services has led companies to focus more on secure data handling, regulatory compliance and long-term asset management solutions.
