Dosti Realty has inaugurated a Ganesh temple within its Dosti Greater Thane township in Kalher, in what the developer described as the first religious structure built inside any of its residential developments. The inauguration took place earlier this month at the company’s integrated township project located near Thane in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR).

The temple has been developed as part of the broader residential ecosystem within Dosti Greater Thane, a 125-acre township project planned as a self-sustained urban neighbourhood. According to the developer, the addition of the temple is intended to provide residents with a common space for religious, cultural and community activities.

In a statement issued during the inauguration, Deepak Goradia said the temple held particular significance for the company as it marked the first such initiative undertaken within any Dosti Realty development. He stated that the company viewed housing not only as the creation of physical spaces, but also as the development of environments shaped by shared values, traditions and community interaction. He further indicated that the temple was expected to function as a gathering point for residents during religious occasions and community celebrations.

Anuj Goradia stated that the temple would become part of residents’ daily routines and social interactions within the township. He added that the space had been conceptualised to support community participation during festivals and personal milestones while fostering stronger neighbourhood connections among families residing in the project.

Located in Kalher, the township is positioned approximately 7 km from Lake Shore Thane and is being developed with residential, recreational and commercial infrastructure. The project includes 1 and 2 BHK apartments along with social and lifestyle amenities intended to support long-term residential occupancy.

The development has been designed by Hafeez Contractor and includes more than 70% open green and landscaped areas, according to the company. The township also features a 1 lakh sq. ft. clubhouse, high-street retail spaces and planned educational infrastructure within the project premises.

Dosti Realty stated that connectivity to the township is expected to improve with the proposed Kalher Metro Station located near the development. The company added that the project has been planned to provide access to schools, workplaces, retail centres and other daily-use infrastructure within the wider Thane region.

Apart from residential infrastructure, the township also includes sports and training facilities through associations such as Gary Kirsten Cricket India and the Michael Phelps Swimming Centre, alongside badminton, music and dance academies aimed at younger residents within the community.
