Royal Enfield will invest INR 2,200 crore to establish a motorcycle manufacturing facility and vendor park at Satyavedu in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district, marking the company’s first major manufacturing expansion outside Tamil Nadu. The proposal was approved by the State Investment Promotion Board chaired by N. Chandrababu Naidu earlier this week. The project is expected to generate around 5,000 direct and indirect jobs while adding nearly nine lakh units to the company’s production capacity. The development includes a dedicated vendor ecosystem aimed at strengthening automobile manufacturing activity in southern Andhra Pradesh and supporting creation of a larger industrial cluster near the Andhra Pradesh–Tamil Nadu border.
Royal Enfield, the motorcycle manufacturing company owned by Eicher Motors, will invest INR 2,200 crore to develop a manufacturing facility and vendor park in Satyavedu mandal of Tirupati district in Andhra Pradesh.
The project received approval earlier this week from the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by N. Chandrababu Naidu. According to an official state government release, the investment is expected to strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s automobile manufacturing ecosystem and create around 5,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities.
The state government has allocated land for the proposed facility across Vanelluru and Rallakuppam villages located in Satyavedu mandal near the Andhra Pradesh–Tamil Nadu border.
The proposed manufacturing unit is expected to add approximately nine lakh units to Royal Enfield’s annual production capacity. The company stated that the expansion would support its long-term manufacturing growth plans while reinforcing India’s position in premium motorcycle production.
Apart from the primary manufacturing facility, the project will also include a dedicated vendor park intended to bring component suppliers and associated manufacturing units to the region. According to the state government, the vendor ecosystem is expected to support development of a larger automobile and engineering manufacturing cluster in southern Andhra Pradesh.
The first phase of the project is targeted for completion by 2029, while the second phase is expected to be completed by 2032.
According to the state government, the investment reflects Andhra Pradesh’s focus on attracting large-scale manufacturing projects through industrial infrastructure development and policy-driven investment initiatives.
Nara Lokesh stated that the government was prioritising investments across mobility, electronics, renewable energy and advanced manufacturing sectors. He indicated that the Royal Enfield project would contribute to industrial development in southern Andhra Pradesh and strengthen the state’s position as a manufacturing investment destination.
The proposed facility marks a significant geographic expansion for Royal Enfield, whose existing major manufacturing operations are concentrated in Tamil Nadu. The Satyavedu location offers proximity to established industrial corridors and supply-chain networks connecting Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.
The project also aligns with broader efforts by Andhra Pradesh to expand industrial investments across districts beyond traditional urban centres through integrated manufacturing clusters, logistics infrastructure and industrial corridor development.
