Sarovar Hotels has expanded its presence in Jammu and Kashmir with the opening of a 51-key property, Mountnoor Sarovar Premiere, in Pahalgam. Announced in the past week, the hotel marks the company’s sixth operational asset in the region, reflecting its continued focus on high-potential leisure destinations. Positioned to cater to evolving traveller preferences, the development strengthens Sarovar’s footprint in the northern hospitality market. The addition comes amid sustained interest in tourism-led real estate and hospitality investments in Jammu and Kashmir, with operators increasing capacity in established destinations such as Pahalgam.
Sarovar Hotels stated in the past week that it has opened a 51-key hotel, Mountnoor Sarovar Premiere, in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, marking its sixth operational property in the region as part of its ongoing expansion in leisure-focused hospitality markets.
The newly opened property adds to the company’s growing portfolio in Jammu and Kashmir, where it has been strengthening its presence across key tourist destinations. The hotel is positioned to cater to demand from domestic and international travellers seeking accommodation in established hill and nature-based destinations.
Ajay K Bakaya, Chairman of Sarovar Hotels and Director at Louvre Hotels India, indicated that the launch aligns with the company’s strategy of expanding into locations with strong tourism potential. He stated that the property’s location and curated offerings are designed to meet changing traveller expectations, particularly in the premium hospitality segment.
The opening reflects a broader trend of hospitality operators increasing their footprint in Jammu and Kashmir, supported by rising tourist inflows and infrastructure improvements in the region. Pahalgam, in particular, continues to attract investment interest due to its established status as a leisure destination and its connectivity to other parts of the Union Territory.
Sarovar Hotels has been scaling its presence through a mix of owned, managed, and franchised properties, focusing on both business and leisure segments. The addition of Mountnoor Sarovar Premiere strengthens its positioning in the upper-upscale category while expanding room inventory in a market that has seen consistent demand growth.
The company did not disclose investment details for the project, but the expansion underlines its intent to consolidate operations in regions with established tourism demand. With six properties now operational in Jammu and Kashmir, Sarovar Hotels continues to build a regional portfolio aligned with its broader growth strategy in the Indian hospitality sector.
