The apartment is located in the 27 Summit residential project developed by Sterling Urban Developments Pvt. Ltd. and has a super built-up area of around 7,000 sq ft with five car parking spaces. The transaction was registered earlier this month, with stamp duty and registration charges of about INR 2.74 crore, adding to a series of high-value residential deals in Bengaluru’s premium housing market.
Tariq Premji, son of Azim Premji and a member of the promoter family of Wipro Ltd., has acquired a luxury penthouse in Bengaluru for INR 45.71 crore, according to property registration documents cited in multiple media reports.
The property is located at the 27 Summit residential project in Whitefield, Bengaluru, developed by Sterling Urban Developments Pvt. Ltd.. Registration records reviewed by media platforms stated that the transaction was completed earlier this month.
According to the reports, the penthouse has a super built-up area of approximately 7,000 sq ft and includes five dedicated car parking spaces. The transaction reportedly attracted stamp duty and registration charges of nearly INR 2.74 crore.
The acquisition is among the larger high-value residential transactions recorded in Bengaluru’s luxury housing segment this year, reflecting continued demand for premium residential assets in the city’s eastern micro-markets, particularly Whitefield and surrounding technology corridors.
Whitefield has emerged as one of Bengaluru’s most active premium residential destinations because of its proximity to major IT parks, commercial developments and metro connectivity infrastructure. The locality has witnessed increasing interest from high-net-worth individuals, senior corporate executives and promoter families seeking large-format residences and penthouses within gated residential developments.
According to market reports, Bengaluru’s luxury and ultra-luxury residential segment has continued to witness steady transaction activity despite broader moderation in residential sales volumes across some housing categories. Developers have increasingly focused on premium projects featuring larger unit configurations, private amenities and low-density planning formats.
The 27 Summit project forms part of a growing cluster of high-end residential developments in Whitefield catering to upper-income homebuyers and investors. Luxury penthouse transactions in Bengaluru have become more visible over the past few years as developers expand premium inventory across technology-driven residential corridors.
Property consultants and developers have indicated that Bengaluru’s comparatively lower entry pricing relative to Mumbai and Delhi-NCR continues to support demand for premium housing assets among affluent buyers. Infrastructure upgrades including metro rail expansion, road connectivity improvements and commercial office growth have also contributed to sustained residential demand across eastern Bengaluru.
The transaction involving Tariq Premji follows several other marquee residential deals involving business families, startup founders and senior corporate executives in Bengaluru’s luxury housing market over the past year. Industry observers stated that demand for high-value apartments and penthouses remains concentrated in micro-markets including Whitefield, Indiranagar, Koramangala and central Bengaluru.
