Ranbir Kapoor has acquired a land parcel at The Sarayu, a premium plotted development in Ayodhya being developed by The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL), as investor interest in the temple city continues to rise amid expanding religious and tourism infrastructure.

According to the company, the transaction value stands at approximately INR 3.31 crore for a land parcel measuring 2,134 sq ft. The plot forms part of The Sarayu, a 75-acre development situated along the banks of the Sarayu river in Ayodhya.

The developer stated that the project includes plotted residential developments alongside a clubhouse, lifestyle amenities and a luxury hotel component to be managed by The Leela.

Kapoor stated that Ayodhya holds deep historical and cultural significance and described the investment as a long-term addition to his family legacy. He also noted that the transaction process was completed digitally through the company’s online platform.

The investment comes as Ayodhya witnesses increasing real estate and infrastructure activity following the development of the Ram temple and associated tourism growth. Kapoor is also set to portray Lord Ram in the upcoming film “Ramayana”.

Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of HoABL, stated that Ayodhya has emerged as a major centre within India’s broader cultural and spiritual landscape. According to the company, projects such as The Sarayu are being positioned as large-scale land developments integrating hospitality, lifestyle and residential infrastructure.

Lodha stated that investor sentiment towards Ayodhya is increasingly being driven not only by religious significance but also by long-term growth expectations linked to infrastructure expansion and visitor inflows.

The company cited government estimates indicating that Ayodhya recorded approximately 23 crore visitors between January and June 2025, compared to nearly 5.75 crore annual visitors before the construction of the Ram temple.

Industry observers said the sharp rise in tourism and infrastructure development has led to increasing land acquisition activity, hospitality expansion and plotted development launches across Ayodhya over the past two years. Developers are increasingly targeting religious tourism-led investment demand as connectivity projects and urban infrastructure upgrades continue across the city.

The transaction also reflects growing participation by high-profile investors and public figures in Ayodhya’s emerging real estate market, particularly in plotted developments and hospitality-linked residential projects.
