Argentum AI has signed a USD 2.5 billion agreement with cloud gaming platform Boosteroid and logistics and real estate developer DL Invest Group for the development of a 300-megawatt artificial intelligence-focused data centre project in Europe.
According to the company, the project will involve the deployment of graphics processing unit (GPU) infrastructure designed to support large-scale artificial intelligence computing requirements. Argentum AI stated that the facility is expected to incorporate tens of thousands of next-generation GPUs, including future deployment of Blackwell systems developed by NVIDIA.
The companies are expected to formally announce the agreement later on Friday.
Industry participants stated that the project is likely to become one of the largest independently developed AI infrastructure projects currently planned in Europe, reflecting increasing global competition to secure compute capacity amid rapid expansion of artificial intelligence applications and cloud computing demand.
The agreement also highlights the growing role of independent AI infrastructure providers as technology firms, cloud platforms and enterprise users seek additional computing capacity outside traditional hyperscale data centre operators.
Boosteroid currently operates dense GPU infrastructure across 29 data centres located in Europe and the Americas. The company has been expanding its cloud gaming and high-performance computing infrastructure in response to increasing demand for GPU-intensive workloads.
The data centre project is expected to require substantial capital deployment, with Argentum AI stating that it is currently in discussions with US financial institutions and global investment banks to structure financing arrangements for large-scale hyperscale AI infrastructure projects.
The broader data centre sector has witnessed accelerated investment activity over the past two years as artificial intelligence adoption expands across enterprise software, cloud computing, automation and generative AI applications. Demand for advanced GPU infrastructure has intensified globally following rapid growth in AI model training and inference requirements.
Real estate and infrastructure developers across Europe, North America and Asia have increasingly partnered with technology firms to develop AI-ready data centres equipped with high-capacity power infrastructure, advanced cooling systems and specialised computing hardware.
Industry analysts stated that access to electricity, land availability and long-term financing have become key competitive factors in the development of large-scale AI infrastructure projects globally, particularly as hyperscale and enterprise users compete for compute capacity and energy resources.
