Domicil, the premium furniture brand from HTL International, is strengthening its presence in India’s wellness-oriented home furniture segment through its Zero Gravity recliner collection, reflecting changing consumer preferences towards comfort-focused residential interiors.


The company stated that increasing demand for ergonomic and wellness-led living environments is influencing furniture purchasing decisions across urban Indian households, particularly within living room and leisure seating categories.

According to the brand, recliner seating is gradually transitioning from being viewed as a luxury add-on to becoming a more mainstream component of modern home layouts, driven by demand for multifunctional and comfort-oriented furniture products.

Domicil’s Zero Gravity collection has been developed around the concept of “neutral body posture”, where the recliner is engineered at an angle of approximately 128 degrees. The company stated that the seating position aligns the torso and legs at a similar level, helping distribute body weight more evenly and reduce pressure on the spine.

The company added that the recliner format is also intended to support circulation, muscle relaxation and pressure relief across joints and the lumbar region, while enabling a more relaxed breathing posture through an open diaphragm position.

Manoj Nair, Country Head (Brands), India, Middle East and Africa at HTL International, stated that consumer demand for recliner seating has expanded beyond occasional entertainment use and is increasingly linked to everyday comfort and relaxation requirements within homes.

According to the company, the Zero Gravity collection was designed to combine ergonomic functionality with lifestyle-oriented furniture design. Nair stated that the brand’s objective was to move beyond conventional recliner formats and introduce seating products that integrate wellness benefits with residential aesthetics and advanced functionality.

The collection includes both recliner sofas and standalone recliner chairs available in leather and fabric upholstery variants. Domicil stated that several models are equipped with touch-button motion controls that allow users to customise seating positions according to comfort preferences.

Additional features available in select models include integrated side tables, storage consoles and USB-A and USB-C charging ports intended to support contemporary residential usage patterns.

The company stated that the recliners have also been designed to optimise space utilisation across different room configurations while providing support across the neck, head, lumbar region, arms and legs.

Industry participants said the shift towards wellness-oriented home interiors has accelerated in recent years as consumers increasingly prioritise comfort, flexible living spaces and lifestyle-focused home upgrades. The trend has also contributed to rising demand for ergonomic furniture, home automation features and multifunctional interior products across premium and upper mid-income housing segments in India.
