SAEL Industries has started operations of a 600 MW solar power plant in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, marking a major addition to its renewable energy portfolio. The project is supported by a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India, ensuring long-term revenue stability. Built across over 2,400 acres, the plant consists of two 300 MW units developed under subsidiary companies. It is expected to reduce nearly 11 lakh tonnes of carbon emissions annually and uses over 12 lakh TOPCon bifacial modules manufactured in Punjab and Rajasthan. This development follows the company’s earlier 1 GWp Khavda project in Gujarat.
SAEL Industries has commenced commercial operations of a 600 MW solar power plant located in Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh. The project further expands the company’s renewable energy capacity and strengthens its position in large-scale solar power generation in India.
The company has entered into a 25-year power purchase agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India. This arrangement is expected to ensure steady long-term revenue visibility from the project and provides operational stability for the plant’s output supply.
The solar facility is developed over more than 2,400 acres and has been structured in two equal phases of 300 MW each. These units are operated through SAEL Solar MHP1 Pvt Ltd and SAEL Solar MHP2 Pvt Ltd. The electricity generated will be supplied to the national grid and is expected to reduce around 11 lakh tonnes of carbon emissions every year, contributing to cleaner energy generation.
The project deploys over 12 lakh TOPCon bifacial solar modules. These modules have been manufactured at SAEL’s production facilities in Punjab and Rajasthan, reflecting the company’s integrated approach across manufacturing and project execution.
SAEL Industries CEO and Executive Director Laxit Awla stated that the terrain in Kurnool tested the execution strength of the teams in Andhra Pradesh. He added that despite weather-related challenges, the project was completed through structured planning and coordinated execution across teams.
This development comes after the commissioning of the 1 GWp Khavda project in Gujarat earlier in 2026, which increased the group’s total operational capacity to more than 2.5 GWp. The expansion reflects the company’s continued focus on scaling renewable energy assets across different regions.
