Serene Communities, the senior living arm of Lifebridge Group in collaboration with Embassy Group, has completed the handover of 239 residences at Serene Amara, a premium senior living project within the Embassy Springs township in Devanahalli, North Bengaluru. The development represents an investment of approximately INR 200 crore and marks the transition of the project into an operational residential community. The handover event was attended by senior leadership from both organisations along with residents and stakeholders. The project reflects the growing demand for purpose-built senior housing in India, with a focus on independent living supported by integrated wellness, care and social infrastructure. The development forms part of a broader trend in the evolution of senior living from care-led formats to lifestyle-oriented residential ecosystems.
Serene Communities, a senior living platform under Lifebridge Group, in collaboration with Embassy Group, has completed the handover of 239 residential units at Serene Amara, located within the Embassy Springs township in Devanahalli, North Bengaluru, marking the operational launch of the senior living community following an investment of approximately INR 200 crore. The handover was formalised earlier in the past week in the presence of senior leadership, residents and project stakeholders.
The development is part of the larger Embassy Springs integrated township and has been positioned as a purpose-built senior living community, designed to cater to the requirements of elderly residents seeking independent and managed living environments. With the completion of construction and transfer of possession, the project has now transitioned into an active residential community.
The handover event was attended by Jitu Virwani, Chairman of Embassy Group, along with representatives from Lifebridge Group, including Rajagopal G, Co-Founder, Director and Group Chief Executive Officer, and Dr Reema Nadig, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer. The presence of stakeholders and residents marked the commencement of occupancy within the project.
According to the developers, Serene Amara has been designed to integrate residential spaces with wellness, hospitality and social infrastructure, reflecting evolving preferences in senior housing. Rajagopal G indicated that the senior living segment in India is witnessing increased demand for developments that combine built infrastructure with lifestyle and community elements, enabling residents to maintain independence while accessing support services as required. He added that the sector is gradually shifting towards models that prioritise long-term wellbeing and social engagement.
Dr Reema Nadig conveyed that the project has been planned with a focus on accessibility, intuitive design and community interaction, with the objective of supporting active living among senior residents. She noted that such developments are increasingly being viewed as a preferred residential option rather than a care-driven necessity, reflecting changing perceptions within the housing market.
Serene Amara forms part of a broader expansion of senior living developments across urban centres, particularly in cities such as Bengaluru, where demand is supported by demographic shifts and rising awareness of specialised housing formats. The project aligns with a wider transition in the segment from conventional care-based facilities to integrated residential ecosystems combining housing, healthcare support and social engagement.
Serene Communities operates multiple senior living projects across South India, including Bengaluru, Chennai, Coimbatore, Puducherry and Kanchipuram, and manages over 2,000 homes across 11 communities. The platform serves more than 2,700 residents and is in the process of expanding into additional markets such as Kochi, Pune and Hyderabad, reflecting sustained demand for structured senior living solutions.
The completion and handover of Serene Amara adds to the growing supply of organised senior housing in Bengaluru, contributing to the diversification of the city’s residential market.
