The government, after detailed examination, issued administrative sanction of INR 544.3 crore to the chief executive officer of the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB) for acquiring 2,170.7 acres to develop the port and shipbuilding cluster. Of this, 1,932 acres are patta land with habitation, while 239 acres are government-owned.
In Tirupati district, 1,995 acres have been earmarked across four villages: 251 acres in Pathetipalem, 530 acres in Vagarru, 724 acres in Valamedu, and 489 acres in Pamanji. In Nellore district's Kota mandal, 176 acres have been identified, including 46 acres in Kothapatnam and 129 acres in Puchalapalli.
The APMB CEO noted that RITES had prepared a technical feasibility report recommending the acquisition of 2,171 acres for the project.
