Madhya Pradesh showcased its industrial and economic potential at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where Chief Minister Mohan Yadav engaged with global investors, business leaders, and policymakers. He emphasized that industrial growth over the past two years has been significant, drawing attention from both national and international stakeholders.
Yadav highlighted the state's renewable energy initiatives, such as floating solar projects on the Omkareshwar Dam and distribution of solar pumps to about 3.2 million farmers. These projects have strengthened Madhya Pradesh's position in clean energy and enabled the supply of some of the country's most affordable electricity. The state's energy infrastructure and policy framework are now key attractions for investors seeking sustainable and cost-effective operations.
The Chief Minister underlined Madhya Pradesh's structural advantages, including vast land banks, central location, and reliable power supply, which support the expansion of agriculture, poultry, and industrial sectors. He noted the state's declining unemployment, now close to one percent, driven by programs that connect youth to jobs and self-employment opportunities. These initiatives are helping Madhya Pradesh emerge as one of India's fastest-growing industrial hubs with a young workforce.
During discussions with Maldives Economic Development and Trade Minister Mohamed Saeed, Yadav explored cooperation in tourism, fisheries, healthcare, and IT. He indicated plans for a follow-up visit to the Maldives to further strengthen these partnerships.
A major outcome of the Davos engagement was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with DP World, a UAE-based logistics and supply chain company. The MoU aims to enhance industrial development and investment collaboration, strengthening Madhya Pradesh's logistics infrastructure and integrating it further with national and international supply chains.
The Chief Minister's interactions emphasized Madhya Pradesh's investor-friendly policies, growth potential, and readiness to support large-scale industrial and trade initiatives. By presenting these advantages on a global platform, the state aims to maintain and increase international investor interest in its industrial landscape.
