Nippon Express (India) Private Limited has been entrusted with the operation of THK India's newly established distribution centre at Sri City, marking a strategic step to strengthen on-site logistics and support manufacturing growth in India. The facility, located within THK India's Sri City plant, will play a key role in improving logistics efficiency and ensuring a stable supply chain as THK scales up production under India's expanding manufacturing ecosystem. Spread across around 8,000 sq m, the distribution centre will handle THK's core products such as linear motion guides and ball screws, with Nippon Express managing end-to-end logistics operations. The move reflects growing confidence in India as a global manufacturing and export hub amid supply chain realignments.
Nippon Express (India) Private Limited (NX India), a group company of Nippon Express Holdings, has commenced operations at THK India's newly established Sri City Distribution Center, reinforcing its role as a logistics partner for global manufacturers expanding in India. The distribution centre is located within the premises of THK India's Sri City plant, and its opening ceremony was held in mid-November.
THK India is a subsidiary of Tokyo-based THK Co., Ltd., a global leader in linear motion guides used extensively in machine tools, industrial robots and advanced manufacturing equipment. As India strengthens its position as a manufacturing and development hub for automobiles, electronics and industrial machinery, THK has been expanding its footprint in the country. The Sri City plant, which began operations in November 2021, forms a key part of this strategy.
The newly commissioned distribution centre spans approximately 8,000 sq m and will handle THK's main products, including linear motion guides, ball screws and related components. NX India has been entrusted with complete responsibility for operating and managing the facility. Its scope of work includes receiving, storage, shelving, on-site material movement and domestic distribution across India. This integrated logistics model is expected to enhance operational efficiency, improve response times and establish a stable product supply system aligned with THK's rising production volumes.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior leadership from both organisations, including THK President and CEO Takashi Teramachi and THK India President Yusuke Mizuno. Teramachi highlighted India's long-term growth potential, describing it as a key driver for the group's future expansion. He said the Sri City distribution centre would be positioned as an export hub, leveraging India's access to Europe, Southeast Asia and emerging African markets.
Representing the NX Group, India Representative Teruaki Nagoya said the company would prioritise safety and continuous service improvement to support efficient operations and business growth at the facility.
With this collaboration, Nippon Express further strengthens its global logistics network in India, aligning with multinational manufacturers seeking reliable supply chain partners to support production expansion, exports and long-term growth in the country.
