The Bombay High Court has revoked letters of administration that had transferred ownership of a Malabar Hill bungalow valued at INR 150 crore. The property once belonged to Sir Jamshedji Duggan and was allegedly taken over through a forged will. The court fined the person involved INR 25 lakh and ordered cancellation of a transfer deed from 2022. Executors of the legitimate will of Dr Feroze Duggan challenged the transfer, saying it was based on false statements and unregistered documents. The court also opened criminal proceedings for using fake documents in court.Read more

A large-scale cleanliness drive was carried out on the Sion-Panvel Highway and Thane-Belapur Road in Navi Mumbai, where more than 7,000 citizens, civic officials, staff, and volunteers participated despite heavy rainfall. The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth about INR 153.16 crore linked to the former promoters of Universal Buildwell Pvt. Ltd. as part of a money laundering probe. The move follows allegations that the company diverted over INR 1,000 crore collected from homebuyers and investors across projects in Gurugram and Faridabad. While the promoters remain in custody, the firm is under insolvency proceedings and buyers who have waited more than 15 years are still awaiting possession of incomplete projects.Read more

The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has taken strong action against multiple developers, including Mahagun Group and Gaursons, after receiving complaints from homebuyers. The authority imposed fines, flagged misleading submissions, and referred several cases for punitive steps under Sections 13, 61 and 63 of the RERA Act. These measures mainly concern projects in Noida and Ghaziabad. Developers such as Mahalaxmi Group, Panchsheel Buildtech, SJP Hotels and Resorts, and Gaursons Hi-Tech Infrastructure also faced action for non-compliance. Indian Railways has revised its standard tender contract conditions, introducing localisation and price variation clauses to improve procurement flexibility. The updates remove certain clauses related to joint ventures, consortiums, international tenders, and GST evaluation during tenders, while the dispute resolution clause will be issued separately. Contractors now have 60 days to replace defective goods, compared with 21 days earlier. Stricter GST compliance is enforced on items like trucks, air-conditioners, and subcontracted works. The Bombay High Court has dismissed a petition by individual members of Satyam Lok Prabhat Cooperative Housing Society in Mumbai who challenged a deemed conveyance order issued to their society. The court ruled that once the society negotiates a settlement with the builder, individual members cannot contest it separately. The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has approved 21 new projects worth INR 7,035 crore, paving the way for 10,866 residential and commercial units across the state. Announced at the Authority's 184th meeting chaired by Sanjay Bhoosreddy, the clearances reflect strong momentum in UP's property sector. The projects span districts including Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow, Varanasi, Mathura, Agra, Bareilly, Barabanki, Rampur, and Gorakhpur. With dedicated provisions for the Economically Weaker Section, the developments aim to serve diverse income groups while generating jobs in construction and allied industries. The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has approved up to a two-year extension for projects under India's production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme for solar equipment manufacturing. The decision, made by the empowered group of secretaries, addresses delays in sourcing capital goods for wafer, polysilicon, and module manufacturing. The extension applies to both tranche-I and tranche-II projects, benefiting companies such as Reliance New Energy, Adani Infrastructure, Waaree Energies, Avaada Ventures, JSW Renewable Energy, ReNew Solar Energy, and Tata Power Solar Systems.
