Sunsure Energy to provide 500 MWh of peak power to Uttar Pradesh in historic BESS deal

Sunsure Energy has signed a landmark 15-year agreement with NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Ltd (NVVN) to supply 500 MWh of peak power from a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) as the end procurer. The agreement is the first of its kind in India, with billing based on a fixed tariff per unit of discharged energy rather than a fixed monthly rate. Sunsure will build, own, and operate the system at the Garautha substation in Jhansi, providing 4 hours of on-demand clean energy during peak hours, marking a historic shift in the country's energy storage ecosystem.Read more

Mumbai Metro Line 4 to open next year, first phase in Feb 2026

Trial runs are set to begin in September, with the Yellow Line-running from Wadala to Kasarvadavali-expected to open to the public next year. Deputy CM Shri Eknath Shinde confirmed that work on Thane's underground internal metro line, linked to Line 4, is also progressing.
