Cochin Shipyard Ltd and Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd are planning new shipbuilding facilities in Tamil Nadu, in collaboration with the state government. The move aligns with India's Maritime India Vision 2030 and aims to significantly boost shipbuilding capacity. The trial run for the first phase of Metro Lines 4 and 4A in Thane was successfully conducted, with officials projecting a significant reduction in travel time across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The project is expected to benefit approximately 22 lakh daily commuters, reducing travel time by 50 to 75 percent. The total investment for the project is estimated at INR 16,000 crore. Once completed, the 35.20 km Metro Lines 4 and 4A will connect Wadala, Ghatkopar, and Mulund in Mumbai to Kasarvadavali and Gaimukh in Thane. The Surat Urban Development Authority (SUDA), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), has reviewed five innovative town-planning schemes designed for the upcoming bullet train station area. Two schemes have already been cleared at the draft stage by the state, and one has been filed as a preliminary plan. The excavation work at the Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) station for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project has reached its final stage, with 84% of the work completed. Inox Clean Energy has launched production at its Bavla solar module facility in Gujarat, starting with a 1.2 GW capacity that will eventually expand to 3 GW. The Goa cabinet has approved seven development projects worth INR 2,500 crore to be executed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said this approach will speed up the work without putting financial pressure on the state. The projects cover the redevelopment of Junta House and Circuit House in Panaji, a new Prashasan Stambh, reconstruction of government quarters and a government garage, along with a new Kadamba Transport Corporation bus stand in Vasco. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is planning to construct a 4.2 km flyover along LBS Marg, extending from Kalpana Talkies in Kurla West to Pankhe Shah Baba Dargah in Ghatkopar West. This initiative aims to alleviate persistent traffic congestion at major junctions such as Andheri-Ghatkopar Link Road, Ghatkopar Station Road, and Sant Narsi Mehta Road. The Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI) is tasked with designing the flyover, considering existing infrastructure like the MRIDC bridge and the Metro line.
