The Chennai One mobility app, launched by the Chennai Unified Metropolitan Transport Authority (CUMTA), is preparing to include INR 1,000 and INR 2,000 monthly commuter passes to simplify travel across the city. Despite strong initial adoption, commuters have requested better training for MTC staff to assist with app usage. The app already consolidates buses, suburban trains, MRTS lines, and metro services, offering real-time tracking, UPI payments, and QR code validation. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has invited bids from solar developers to supply 500 million units of renewable energy every year. The selected bidder will be responsible for setting up a grid-connected captive solar power plant with battery storage and supplying electricity under a 25-year power purchase agreement. Maharashtra plans to strengthen its electricity transmission network with 118 new power lines and an equal number of substations over five years. The first phase of seven lines has begun, designed to carry solar, wind, hydro, and battery-stored electricity across the state. MSETCL also intends to develop 1,000-MW battery storage projects at existing substations. With India aiming for 500 GW of non-fossil fuel-based capacity by 2030, Maharashtra's renewable energy regions like Marathwada and Solapur will play an important role. Bengaluru's Outer Ring Road (ORR) will undergo a major mobility upgrade under the INR 400 crore B-Smile (Bengaluru Smart Mobility Integration for Last-Mile Efficiency) project. The initiative will reintroduce dedicated bus priority lanes, first launched in 2019, along with pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, cycle tracks, and service roads. Designed to improve last-mile connectivity, the project integrates buses, Metro, cycling, and walking. APM Terminals Pipavav has started a dedicated block train carrying 90 twenty-foot general-purpose containers from Pipavav Port to the Inland Container Depot at Kanakpura, Jaipur. This operation supports a major solar energy project in Rajasthan. The cargo, shipped from Malaysia on the vessel ONE MARVEL (V-0079W), was transported efficiently in a single train movement. India has added nearly 4.9 GW of residential rooftop solar capacity under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana (PMSGY), with over 57.9 lakh applications submitted so far. Despite a four-fold increase in applications over the past year, only 13 per cent of the target of 1 crore installations has been achieved, and less than 15 per cent of allocated subsidies worth INR 65,700 crore (USD 7.5 billion) have been released. The Maharashtra State Fisheries Department has decided to drop its earlier plan for redeveloping the Taraporewala Aquarium after realizing it lacked specialized aquarium design expertise. The April plan had proposed a six-storey building at an estimated cost of INR 296 crore. The new approach involves appointing a world-class consultant and architect to prepare a detailed project report and manage the project. The revised plan has a sanctioned budget of INR 350 crore and is expected to take 1.5 years.
