The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced earlier this week that it has commenced widening works on the left-hand carriageway near Subroto Park Air Force Station, expanding it from two lanes to four. The Noida International Airport (Jewar) completed its second and final mandatory calibration flight earlier this week, following the initial test on October 31. An aircraft landed from the west-end of the strip to verify the Instrument Landing System (ILS) 28, whereas the earlier test covered ILS 10 from the east side. These calibration flights check navigation, communication and surveillance systems before an aerodrome licence is granted. The airport�s first phase covers around 1,334 hectares, with one runway and terminal, aiming to handle 12 million passengers annually and ultimately expand to five runways and 300 million capacity.Read more

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu emphasised that the expansion of Kangra airport is vital for the state's economic growth, boosting tourism and creating local employment. At a review meeting in Shimla, he said the upgraded airport will attract high-end travellers and strengthen infrastructure across Kangra and nearby districts. Sukhu also reviewed heliport projects in Mandi, Kangra, Kullu, Kinnaur, and Hamirpur, directing officials to ensure completion by next year. The Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI) in Ahmedabad has developed a new parallel taxiway for Code C aircraft to enhance ground handling efficiency and reduce delays.
