Indian Railways has outlined plans to develop a longer 24-coach Vande Bharat sleeper train to meet rising demand for premium overnight travel on busy long-distance routes. The move follows positive passenger feedback from the recently introduced 16-coach sleeper variant, which offers 823 berths. Southern Railway has announced a scheduled halt for the Chennai Bengaluru Double Decker Express at Tiruvallur railway station, responding to long-standing commuter demand from the suburban region. Mahindra Holidays & Resorts India Ltd reported a 96 per cent year-on-year decline in consolidated profit after tax to INR 1.4 crore in the third quarter, primarily due to a one-time expense linked to new labour codes. The Phoenix Mills Ltd reported a 4 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit for the October-December quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year, reaching INR 275.79 crore from INR 264.76 crore a year earlier, according to a regulatory filing. Total income for the period increased to INR 1,168.47 crore from INR 1,005.52 crore as retail and commercial activity continued.
