SpiceJet has moved ahead with its expansion strategy by signing a Memorandum of Understanding to induct 10 additional aircraft. The airline has already doubled its available seat kilometres from 55 crore to 105 crore in the recent quarter and is aiming to scale this up to 220-225 crore in the winter schedule. With plans to operate over 300 flights daily and expand its fleet to around 60 aircraft, the carrier is focusing on restoring capacity, improving reliability and meeting rising passenger demand.Read more

The ePlane Company has developed a digital twin of its e200x electric air taxi using NVIDIA's Omniverse and IGX platforms. The virtual model allows engineers to simulate flight physics, sensor performance and emergency scenarios before real-world testing. The Chennai-based startup is using this system to improve safety validation, autonomy testing and predictive maintenance. The company, incubated at IIT Madras, already holds a Design Organisation Approval and operates a 60,000 sq ft manufacturing facility. Bangladesh has barred SpiceJet from using its airspace over pending dues, forcing the budget airline to reroute several flights, especially those operating from Kolkata to Guwahati and Imphal. Flight tracking data shows these services are taking longer alternative routes to avoid Bangladesh airspace. SpiceJet said it is in discussions with authorities regarding navigation-related charges and described the matter as a routine industry issue, adding that scheduled operations remain unaffected. The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed a 115-key SeleQtions hotel in Devanahalli, Bengaluru, marking the brand's debut in the city. The project involves conversion of a standalone resort with plans to expand the inventory to 120 keys. With this addition, IHCL's portfolio in Bengaluru will rise to 20 hotels, including 11 under development. Separately, Sarovar Hotels announced dual openings in north India the 90-key Golden Tulip Kukas Jaipur in Rajasthan and the 70-key Skywings Sarovar Portico Mathura in Uttar Pradesh.
