Dangote Group has entered a USD 400 million equipment deal with China's XCMG to accelerate the expansion of its oil refinery to 1.4 million barrels per day. The Odisha government has approved 23 industrial investment proposals valued at INR 4,111.80 crore, expected to generate about 9,924 jobs across the state, officials said after a meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg. The projects span a diverse range of sectors, including mechanical and electrical capital goods, apparel and textiles, aerospace and defence manufacturing, shipbuilding and repair, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, refractories, aluminium downstream industries, mineral beneficiation and logistics and warehousing, among others, reflecting the state's diversified industrial strategy. The proposals will be implemented across 11 districts, supporting regionally balanced development. Approved investments include metal beneficiation plants, manufacturing units for railway components and advanced technologies, as well as hospitality projects. US-based semiconductor equipment major KLA Corporation has committed an investment of USD 400 million (around INR 3,600 crore) to establish its global research and development and innovation hub in Chennai, Tamil Nadu Industries Minister T R B Rajaa announced. The 12-acre campus is expected to generate 4,000 high-skilled jobs and become KLA's largest integrated R&D facility outside its global headquarters. The MoU was signed with Guidance Tamil Nadu in the presence of Chief Minister M. K. Stalin. JK Cement has started construction of a new grinding unit in Bikaner, Rajasthan, as part of its ongoing capacity expansion strategy. The Karnataka government has revised building regulations for industrial plots under the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB), increasing permissible built-up limits to enhance land use and attract investment. The changes, effective from early February, raise the maximum floor area ratio (FAR) that developers can achieve up to 5.2 for plots along wider roads through a premium payment mechanism, marking a significant rise from earlier limits. Kerala Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Kinfra) has identified more than 550 acres of land near the Vizhinjam International Seaport in Thiruvananthapuram district for the development of industrial infrastructure linked to the port. The parcels, located primarily in Kulathoor and Perumkadavila in Neyyattinkara taluk and in Kattakada taluk, are being surveyed and negotiations with landowners are underway ahead of formal acquisition under a land purchase model supported by around INR 1,000 crore allocated in the state budget. Kinfra's land identification is part of a broader push to establish port-led industrial clusters, logistics parks and manufacturing units within a 20 km radius of the seaport, aimed at strengthening the hinterland ecosystem and attracting investment. Apogee Aerospace has placed an order worth INR 3,500 crore for 15 Albatross 2.0 amphibian aircraft from Australia's Amphibian Aerospace Industries. The aircraft can operate from land and water and seat up to 28 passengers.
