Hyderabad-based CtrlS Datacenters Ltd. has acquired a land parcel worth INR 400 crore in Patna to develop a new data center with a 10MW IT load capacity, capable of housing over 1,000 racks. This will be the company's second facility in Patna, located just 300 meters from its existing DC1 center. Facilitated by the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), this expansion underscores CtrlS's commitment to growing its presence in Patna. The company, one of Asia's largest rated-4 datacenter operators, aims to establish over 20 Edge Data Centers across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities. Founder and CEO Sridhar Pinnapureddy highlighted the project's potential to attract investment and create employment in Bihar, praising the state government's supportive policies. CtrlS also has ambitious expansion plans across India, including a INR 2,200 crore project in Kolkata and a recent DC-3 launch in Hyderabad.

The new project will be the second facility for CtrlS Datacentres Ltd. in Patna. The newly acquired land parcel is a mere 300 metres away from the company's current Patna DC1 facility. The decision is reflective of the company's commitment to expand in the city. The Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) is said to have facilitated the deal.
CtrlS has Edge Data Centers in Patna and Lucknow, which serves 13 datacenter networks across Mumbai, Noida, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. Additionally, the company said it aims to establish over 20 Edge Data Centers across Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities in coming years.
CtrlS is one of Asia's largest rated- 4 datacenter operators, catering to numerous MNCs across the country. It offers services such as in various portfolios including hyperscale, colocation, work area recovery and managed services.
CtrlS Datacenters' founder and CEO, Sridhar Pinnapureddy, expressed their commitment to developing a strong IT ecosystem in Bihar through their future-ready data centres. He highlighted that along with its ecosystem partners, the project will not only attract "significant investment" to the state but also create employment opportunities. He further expressed his gratitude to the State government for offering a supportive policy environment, an industry-friendly business climate, and attractive incentives for their upcoming project.
This year CtrlS announced its expansion plans in Kolkata with a INR 2,200 crore project May launched its DC-3 facility in Hyderabad in June. The company also announced plans to raise USD 300 million in debt this financial year to expand across India to capitalise on the rising demand for data centres on account of increasing use of artificial intelligence.
