MahaRERA to launch MahaCRITI on August 31 with enhanced features, temporary service disruptions announced

Synopsis

MahaRERA is launching its new platform, MahaCRITI, at midnight on August 31. The updated website will enhance user experience with real-time data analytics and personalised dashboards for homebuyers, promoters, and agents. However, from August 13 to August 31, the current system will be offline, causing temporary interruptions: promoters and agents cannot submit new applications online, and homebuyers must file complaints manually. Online hearings for existing complaints will continue as usual. The overhaul, prompted by rising website traffic, aims to improve functionality and transparency in regulatory processes. The new platform will be operational starting August 31.

The Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) is set to introduce its new platform, Maha-Complaint and Regulatory Integrated Technology Implementation (MahaCRITI), at midnight on August 31. This updated website will include significant improvements aimed at enhancing user experience, offering real-time data analytics, and providing personalised dashboards for homebuyers, promoters, and agents.

During the transition to MahaCRITI, there will be some temporary interruptions in services. From midnight on August 13 to midnight on August 31, promoters and agents will be unable to submit new applications online. Homebuyers will also need to submit complaints manually from August 20 to August 31, as the online complaint registration will be unavailable during this period. However, online hearings for existing complaints will still be conducted without interruption.

MahaRERA urges all stakeholders to cooperate during this transition period. The current website will be offline during the migration, and only applications completed before August 13 will be processed.

The new MahaCRITI website will feature an integrated system with personalised dashboards, data analytics, and improved functionalities. This overhaul comes as the existing system, over seven years old, no longer meets the growing demands and needs of its users. The updated platform will support better management of regulatory functions and complaints, with features such as mobile applications and AI-driven chatbots for real-time assistance.

Shri Ajoy Mehta, Chairman of MahaRERA, emphasised the importance of the new system, stating, "Any public sector organisation's website should provide unambiguous and reliable information in the least amount of time possible. As interactions on MahaRERA's website have increased significantly, there is a need to enhance the portal's functionalities. The website's daily visits have surged from about 5,000 a few months ago to over 34,000 currently, with site visits increasing from 200 to 1,400 per hour. The new MahaCRITI platform is designed to handle this rising traffic and provide a more efficient and user-friendly experience. The revamped website will offer various modules to facilitate interactions between developers, agents, and MahaRERA, enhancing transparency and accountability in the real estate sector. The new platform will be fully operational starting midnight on August 31. For further information, stakeholders are encouraged to check MahaRERA's current website until the new system goes live."

This upgrade is a significant step towards enhancing the functionality of MahaRERA's online services and ensuring that it meets the current and future needs of all its users.
