GIFT City partners with NFSU to boost financial and cyber security expertise

Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City) has partnered with the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) to boost skills in financial and cyber security. The two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together on important areas such as international arbitration, fraud investigation, data security, cyber security, and anti-money laundering. This collaboration aims to improve education, training, and research in these fields.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Tapan Ray, Managing Director and Group CEO of GIFT City, and Padma Shri Dr. JM Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU. On the occasion, Mr. Ray said, "This partnership reflects our shared vision of promoting learning and creating a progressive environment for finance and technology, thereby elevating the GIFT City ecosystem. The establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Corporate Forensics, focusing on cyber forensics, fintech, forensic accounting, and international arbitration, will significantly strengthen expertise within GIFT City. Our joint efforts will ensure that entities in GIFT City have access to top-tier talent and executive knowledge, driving innovation and excellence."

Prof. SO Junare, Campus Director of NFSU-Gandhinagar, highlighted several initiatives that will result from this collaboration. The CoE will offer tailored training programs and skill development opportunities specifically for businesses in GIFT City. Additionally, the partnership will facilitate the exchange of faculty and staff between the two institutions, and it will organise various events such as workshops, conferences, and research meetings. These efforts aim to foster joint research, consultancy, and continuing education programs, as well as share advancements in teaching and student development.

GIFT City is India's first operational smart city and the country's first International Financial Services Centre (IFSC). It serves as a global hub for financial and IT services, designed to compete with international business districts. GIFT City offers numerous advantages, including lower operational costs, favourable tax policies, and a thriving community. It is becoming a preferred destination for both domestic and international companies in sectors such as banking, financial services, IT, and education.

Innovative solutions like the District Cooling System and Automated Waste Collection System set new benchmarks for urban development in India.
