The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), led by Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde, has ramped up its demolition efforts against unauthorised constructions. Recent actions targeted several illegal buildings across sectors, including Sector-04 Airoli, Vashi village, and Karave Gaon, resulting in the demolition of structures and fines totaling INR 30,000. Despite previous notices, the construction continued, prompting NMMC to employ heavy machinery for effective enforcement. Key officials, including Assistant Commissioners and Junior Engineers, were actively involved. The NMMC plans to maintain these rigorous measures to enforce compliance and uphold urban planning standards.
In a recent crackdown on unauthorised constructions, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has intensified its demolition efforts across various sectors. This move, directed by Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde and overseen by Dr. Rahul Gethe, aims to address the rising issue of illegal building activities in the city.
The NMMC's encroachment department took decisive action against several unauthorised constructions. In Sector-04, Airoli, buildings B-196, B-197, and Q-92 were found to be constructed without proper permissions. Despite a notice issued under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional Planning and Town Planning Act, 1966, the construction continued. The department organised a demolition drive, which successfully removed the unauthorised structures and imposed a penalty of INR 30,000.
Similarly, in Vashi village, unauthorised construction at House No. 30, Vashi Gaon, was targeted. The construction commenced without NMMC approval and continued despite a formal notice. The Vashi department conducted a demolition campaign to address the illegal building.
In Karave Gaon, Belapur, further action was taken against unauthorised constructions at House No-03, Se-36, and Survey No - 108/110. Notices were issued, but the construction persisted. The Belapur division responded with a demolition operation to remove the illegal buildings.
The operation saw significant participation from NMMC officials, including Assistant Commissioners Ashok Ahire, Shashikant Tandel, and Sagar More, along with Junior EngineersRaj Nagar Goje and Mayuresh Pawar. The campaign utilised various equipment such as breakers, electrical hammers, poklans, pickups, and JCBs to effectively execute the demolition.
The NMMC plans to continue these stringent measures to curb unauthorised constructions, ensuring compliance with municipal regulations and maintaining urban planning standards.
