UPM Raflatac, a global leader in sustainable labelling solutions, has signed a lease agreement with ESR Group, a developer of modern industrial facilities.

UPM Raflatac will occupy 48,800 sq. ft. (over 4,500 sqm) space at ESR Taloja Industrial & Logistics Park, a facility located near the JNPT port in Navi Mumbai. This expansion will allow them to better serve their growing customer base in India and improve operational efficiency. This move highlights Navi Mumbai's growing appeal as a hub for international companies focused on environmentally friendly solutions.

The decision to locate at ESR Taloja aligns perfectly with UPM Raflatac's commitment to sustainability. The park boasts Grade A+ sustainable infrastructure, pre-certified Gold by IGBC (India Green Building Council). This focus on eco-friendly design and operations complements UPM Raflatac's own sustainable labelling solutions.

The new space offers UPM Raflatac a modern and efficient facility for warehousing and distribution. The park's strategic location provides excellent access to key transportation routes, connecting them easily to Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and Thane. Additionally, the 90-acre (close to 365,000 sqm) park offers ample space for future growth, and the 48,800 sq. ft. space itself can be configured to accommodate potential value-added services, allowing them to further enhance their customer offerings.

Abhijit Malkani, CEO of ESR India, emphasised that the collaboration extends beyond operational efficiency, enabling UPM to maintain a sustainable supply chain operation. ESR, with its expertise in industrial development and asset management (managing 22 industrial and logistics parks with a total area of 2.8 million sqm in India as of December 31, 2023), will support UPM Raflatac's growth.

The UPM Raflatac lease agreement highlights Navi Mumbai's growing attractiveness as a preferred destination for international companies. The city's proximity to Mumbai, strong infrastructure, and focus on sustainability are attracting businesses seeking modern and environmentally friendly facilities.

This collaboration is a win-win for both companies. UPM Raflatac is well-positioned to capitalise on the growing demand for sustainable labelling solutions in India, while ESR strengthens its reputation as a developer of sustainable industrial spaces. This move further strengthens Navi Mumbai's position as an industrial hub, attracting more international businesses seeking eco-friendly solutions.
