Earlier this month, under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Swamitve Yojane scheme, the Haryana State Government distributed certificates to over 5,000 people in Manesar.
For many years, residents living on government land designated as "Lal Dora" faced uncertainty. Despite residing on these properties for over 20 years, often as tenants, they lacked official ownership documents. This meant they couldn't sell their property for more than the collector rate (government determined fair market value), obtain loans against it, or have complete peace of mind about their future.
The new scheme aims to address this long-standing issue. By granting ownership rights at collector rates, the government empowers residents and provides them with a valuable asset. This allows them to sell their property if needed, access loans for renovations or emergencies, and finally have legal security over their homes with a property certificate.
The Chief Minister, Nayab Singh, congratulated the beneficiaries and highlighted the scheme's positive impact. He mentioned that over 2 lakh residents across the state have already benefited from similar initiatives aimed at resolving land ownership issues on Lal Dora land.
