Capgemini, a global Information Technology and consulting company, is gearing up to launch a new cutting-edge facility in Chennai, promising INR 1,000 Crores in the next 3 years. The facility, spread across 600,000 square feet, holds around 5000 seats and construction of the facility is currently planned to be completed in 2027. Capgemini was founded in 1967, and is currently headquartered in Paris, France.
The facility aims to create a cooperative and dynamic work atmosphere, including modern engineering laboratories and specialised areas for the customer experience centre, among other features. The campus is designed with sustainability in mind, incorporating water saving and advanced energy technologies as well as utilising recycled materials and rainwater harvesting. Additionally, the facility will also be home to the company's various departments including Financial Services, Engineering, Digital, Cloud, and Artificial Intelligence.
TRB Rajaa, Tamil Nadu's Minister for Industries, has expressed his optimism that the facility will not only help showcase native talent, but also enable the state's goals of becoming a trillion-dollar economy by 2030. Capgemini will be endorsing local talent for the project, and has promised INR 3 crores for the upliftment of government schools within the locality.
Vijay Chandramohan, Vice President and Head for Corporate Real Estate Services for Asia-Pacific and the Middle East, conveyed Capgemini's enthusiasm for the construction of this new project, emphasising the company's commitment to innovation and sustainable growth and development.

This expansion, he noted, reflects their strategic vision and commitment to collaborating with local government efforts to drive the country's economic growth.
The campus will feature wellness centres, town halls, gymnasiums, and cafeterias, all carefully designed to improve employee wellbeing and foster a productive and supportive work environment. These amenities are intended not only to promote physical health through fitness facilities and nutritious dining options but also to encourage social interaction and community engagement, thereby enhancing overall job satisfaction and morale among employees.
