Cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal invests INR 5.38 crore in a Mumbai apartment at Ten BKC, Bandra East. Developed by Adani Realty, the project offers luxury living with great connectivity. The project is slated for completion this year. Bandra East has gained popularity due to its proximity to Bandra Kurla Complex and upscale gated communities, attracting developers like Rustomjee and Kalpataru. Jaiswal's move echoes the trend of cricketers investing in prime real estate, joining the likes of Kapil Dev and Virat Kohli, who've acquired properties in Mumbai and Alibaug. This underscores the allure of Mumbai's real estate market for both celebrities and investors alike.
Cricketer Yashasvi Jaiswal has purchased an apartment in Mumbai for INR 5.38 crore in the Ten BKC project at Bandra East, according to documents accessed by Zapkey. The project is being developed by Adani Realty and is currently under construction. The apartment has a size of 1,110 square feet, and the deal was registered on January 7th, 2024 by Jaiswal. At the registered price, Jaiswal’s purchase deal is valued at around INR 48,500 per square foot. It is worth mentioning that Jaiswal had moved into a luxurious 5 BHK flat in Thane just last year itself.
Ten BKC is a residential project that was launched in 2016, with an offering of 2 BHK, 3 BHK and 4 BHK apartments. The original promoter Radius Estates went into insolvency and thereafter, Adani Realty acquired the yet-to-be-constructed project. Brokers say the completion and handover of apartments is likely to happen this year.
While the Bandra East location was not the most preferred Mumbai residence for a long time, the area has found dramatic acceptance in the past decade owing to its proximity to Bandra Kurla Complex, as well as the presence of other major gated-community projects. Other than connectivity to BKC, Bandra East also offers easy access to Bandra-Worli Sea link along with the rest of the city.
Developers who have executed projects in the neighbourhood include Rustomjee and Kalpataru and the location is also seeing a rush of redevelopment projects at present. Raymond Group also launched their first project in the Bandra East area titled 'The Address by GS, Bandra'.
The real estate frenzy in Mumbai has captured all celebrities alike. While Bollywood stars have always been heavily invested in buying properties in prime locations in Mumbai, Indian cricketers are not behind. Recently, former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev purchased a 16-acre land in Mograj village of Karjat taluka. Last year, he had earlier purchased a 25-acre land parcel in Kothimbe village. In 2022, there was a flurry of purchases by cricketers. Ruturaj Gaikwad purchased a swanky apartment in Pune for INR 8 crores from Pritam Constructions Ltd. Prithvi Shaw also bought a 2,209 sq ft flat for INR 10.5 crore in 81 Aureate by MJ Shah in Bandra.
Apart from these purchases, cricketers have also been buying weekend homes in locations around Mumbai, especially Alibaug. In 2022, Virat and Anushka purchased an 8-acre farm land in Alibaug for a whopping INR 19.24 crores. Last year, Virat Kohli bought a 2,000 sq ft villa in Avas Living – a luxury bungalow project in Awas Village, Alibaug – for INR 6 crore. Rohit Sharma had also purchased four acres of land in Mhatroli village, Alibaug, in 2021. Other legendary cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Ravi Shastri and Ajit Agarkar also own weekend homes in Alibaug.
