In a significant advancement for road connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh, Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, has allocated Rs 1,782 crore for the construction of a pivotal road project. This funding approval pertains to the development of an 82-kilometer-long greenfield road, spanning from Pango to Jorging in the Upper Siang district of the northeastern state. Gadkari articulated that this project, comprising packages I and II, aims to facilitate seamless and secure traffic flow.

The primary objective is to establish year-round connectivity to villages in the region, thereby acting as a catalyst for socio-economic development in the hilly areas of the district. Minister Gadkari emphasized the strategic importance of the road, foreseeing its key role in significantly reducing travel time for security forces. This, in turn, is anticipated to enhance their efficiency in reaching border areas. The road project is not merely a logistical improvement but also holds the promise of transforming the socio-economic landscape of the region it traverses.

Expressing his delight over this significant development, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu underscored the visionary approach of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in prioritizing connectivity in the state. Khandu conveyed his appreciation to Minister Gadkari for this substantial allocation of funds, recognizing its potential to revolutionize connectivity in Arunachal Pradesh. Chief Minister Khandu articulates that this strategic initiative extends beyond a mere infrastructural project, aiming to ensure seamless connectivity in border areas, foster socio-economic growth, and reduce travel time for our security forces.

The significance of this road extends beyond its physical construction; it symbolizes a commitment to unlocking the economic potential of remote areas and fortifying the security apparatus along the border. The strategic vision behind this project aligns with a broader narrative of ensuring inclusivity and connectivity, bringing the benefits of development to the remotest corners of the country.
