• The newly launched facilities comprise around 2.9 lakh sq ft of workspace and more than 3,900 desks.
• With the expansion, the company's Chennai portfolio has increased from four centres to ten centres.
• The total footprint in the city has risen from over 2.1 lakh sq ft and 2,900 desks to nearly 5 lakh sq ft and more than 6,800 desks.
• The move comes amid increasing demand for managed office and flexible workspace solutions across major Indian commercial markets.
Co-working space provider COWRKS has expanded its presence in Chennai by launching six new managed office centres, adding more than 3,900 desks and around 2.9 lakh sq ft of workspace as demand for flexible office solutions continues to grow across India's major business hubs.
The company announced the expansion on May 29, stating that the new facilities form part of its broader strategy to strengthen its position in the managed office segment. The additional capacity significantly increases COWRKS' footprint in Chennai, one of the country's key office markets that has witnessed sustained occupier interest from corporates and technology firms.
Following the latest additions, COWRKS' network in Chennai has expanded from four operational centres with more than 2.1 lakh sq ft of office space and over 2,900 desks to ten centres spanning nearly 5 lakh sq ft and more than 6,800 desks.
The expansion reflects growing demand from occupiers seeking flexible and managed workplace solutions that offer scalability and operational convenience. The company has been increasing its presence across major metropolitan markets as businesses continue to adopt hybrid working models and flexible real estate strategies.
Backed by Brookfield Properties, COWRKS operates across several leading office destinations in India, including Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune and Hyderabad. The company's portfolio currently comprises 50 operational centres spread across more than 2.4 million sq ft of workspace.
According to the company, its nationwide network provides over 30,200 desks, catering to enterprises, multinational corporations, start-ups and other organisations seeking managed office infrastructure. The latest Chennai expansion further strengthens its presence in southern India and adds significant capacity to its existing portfolio in the city.
The addition of six centres highlights continued activity in the flexible workspace sector, which has seen increasing adoption by occupiers looking for ready-to-use office environments amid evolving workplace requirements. Chennai remains an important market for such operators, supported by its established corporate ecosystem and steady commercial real estate activity.
