Synopsis

• Tata Power Solar Rooftop has launched the ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign in Uttar Pradesh in partnership with Tata Power Battery Storage.
• The initiative aims to accelerate rooftop solar adoption and provide households with round-the-clock clean energy solutions.
• The company plans to install 3 lakh rooftop solar systems across the state over the next three years, targeting 1,000 MWp of cumulative capacity.
• The programme combines rooftop solar, battery storage and financing options to make clean energy more accessible and affordable.
• Uttar Pradesh offers subsidies of up to INR 1.08 lakh for systems up to 3 kW through combined central and state government incentives.

Tata Power Solar Rooftop, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has launched the ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign in Uttar Pradesh to boost rooftop solar installations and expand access to clean energy solutions for residential consumers. The campaign was unveiled in Lucknow on May 29 in collaboration with Tata Power Battery Storage, an integrated battery energy storage solutions provider, with the objective of helping households meet growing electricity demand through cost-effective and sustainable energy systems.

The initiative seeks to encourage wider adoption of rooftop solar technology across the state by integrating solar power generation, battery storage and financing support under a single platform. According to the company, the programme has been designed to address rising energy consumption among households while providing a reliable and uninterrupted power supply.

Speaking at the launch, Praveer Sinha, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Tata Power, said Uttar Pradesh had emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing rooftop solar markets, supported by favourable policy measures and increasing consumer interest in clean energy solutions. He stated that the company intends to make rooftop solar systems more accessible and affordable by combining battery storage capabilities with financing options, enabling households to adopt renewable energy with lower upfront costs.

As part of the campaign, Tata Power plans to install 3 lakh rooftop solar systems across Uttar Pradesh over the next three years. The proposed rollout is expected to create a cumulative rooftop solar capacity of 1,000 MWp across the state, significantly expanding distributed renewable energy infrastructure.

The company highlighted that Uttar Pradesh currently offers one of the most attractive rooftop solar subsidy frameworks in the country. Residential consumers installing systems of up to 3 kW can avail combined benefits under the central government’s PM Surya Ghar scheme and the state government’s subsidy programme, resulting in incentives of up to INR 1.08 lakh.

Tata Power Solar Rooftop is part of TPREL, the renewable energy arm of Tata Power. Through the new campaign, the company aims to support the state’s transition towards cleaner energy sources while enabling households to reduce dependence on conventional grid power and manage electricity expenses more efficiently. The initiative also aligns with broader efforts to increase rooftop solar penetration and strengthen decentralised renewable energy adoption across India.
