LOTTE India, a prominent chocolate manufacturer and supplier, has made a substantial investment of INR 185 crore to expand its production facility in Tamil Nadu. This expansion, which encompasses 85,562 square feet of land in Nemam, will significantly increase the production capacity for the company's popular Choco Pie range.

In a statement, the company emphasized that this investment plays a crucial role in reinforcing LOTTE India's dominant position in the Indian confectionery market. Additionally, this expansion is expected to generate around 200 jobs in the region, contributing to local employment opportunities.

The expansion project has resulted in a significant increase in the size of the facility. It has expanded from 18% to 32%, making it one of the largest factories in India, with a total size of 5,16,398 square feet for LOTTE India. Wahl also highlighted the factory's commitment to safety and hygiene standards, which have been recognized since its inception in 2010.

With a remarkable 99% retention rate at the factory, LOTTE India is now set to welcome 200 additional workers to its expanded facility, further contributing to the local workforce.

The augmented production capacity at the facility has reached 1,420 tonnes per month. This substantial increase will enable LOTTE India to effectively meet the growing demand for its products in the domestic market. It also positions the company to explore potential export opportunities in the future, demonstrating its commitment to both local and global markets.

Apart from the two state-of-the-art Choco Pie manufacturing facilities in Chennai and Rohtak (Haryana), LOTTE India operates its own confectionery manufacturing unit in Nellikuppam near Puducherry. Additionally, the company collaborates with seven other manufacturing units spread across the country to efficiently meet the demands of its diverse range of confectionery products.
