NEOM, the futuristic city in Saudi Arabia, is preparing to host its first W Hotel and a JW Marriott property. Marriott International is finalizing plans for these luxury accommodations in the Trojena ski resort within the NEOM mountains. The JW Marriott is expected to become a hub for global conferences and events, while the W Hotel will cater to visitors enjoying the snowy mountain. Trojena is set for completion in late 2026, with Marriott's properties anticipated to open around that time, coinciding with the Asian Winter Games in 2029. These hotels are part of NEOM's ambitious development plans for the region.
NEOM is set to host Saudi Arabia's inaugural W Hotel and a JW Marriott property as Marriott International finalizes plans for two luxury accommodations in the futuristic Trojena ski resort within the NEOM mountains. According to Chris Newman, the Executive Director of NEOM Hotel Development, the JW Marriott will be a hub for global conferences and events, while the W Hotel will cater to visitors enjoying the snowy mountain. Chadi Hauch, Regional Vice President and Lodging Development of the Middle East at Marriott International, expresses excitement about collaborating with NEOM on this highly anticipated global development.
The opening date for Marriott International's two properties has not been disclosed as of the story's publication. Meanwhile, Trojena is slated for completion in late 2026, anticipating visitors and new residents just in time for the Asian Winter Games in 2029.
Even prior to its opening, prospective guests can anticipate the W Hotel in Trojena, NEOM by Marriott International, boasting 236 guest rooms, including 47 suites, offering panoramic views of the mountains and a freshwater lake. The W Hotel will also house four dining venues, retail spaces, shopping markets, and entertainment areas, marking the debut of Saudi Arabia's first W Hotel within NEOM Trojena's Lake Village.
This village is under development to accommodate residential, hospitality, and commercial structures right at the water's edge. The 2.8-kilometer-long architectural lake is set to become a destination featuring an enchanted forest and waterfront adventures. The property's design includes signature brand spaces like a Living Room, WET Deck, W Lounge, AWAY Spa, and FIT fitness centre.
Adjacent to this, the JW Marriott Hotel will be situated in The Bow, part of Trojena's envisioned futuristic water world. NEOM and Marriott International suggest that technology will shape the nature and living environment of The Bow, but the specifics of its implementation and purposes are yet to be defined.
The hotel, nestled in the mountains, will have substructures designed to withstand the weight and pressure of the surrounding water. Specific areas are planned to be adaptable for year-round use, including an atrium capable of hosting large gatherings. Anticipated to feature 500 rooms and suites, the hotel will offer various entertainment and recreational facilities such as a ballroom, meeting rooms, five dining options, a fitness centre, a kids' club, swimming pools, and a spa.
Situated in the Tabuk region of northwest Saudi Arabia, Trojena is set to become an advanced ski resort near NEOM. According to NEOM, the region's inconsistent snowfall prompts Trojena to utilize a mix of real and artificial snow, creating an alpine environment for sports, living, and recreation purposes throughout the year.
