Synopsis

The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) is progressing the development of the Multi Modal Logistics Hub and Multi Modal Transport Hub project in Dadri, Greater Noida, under the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme. The integrated infrastructure project in Uttar Pradesh spans more than 1,200 acres and includes logistics, warehousing and passenger transit infrastructure linked to the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors. The project involves an estimated development cost of around INR 4,034 crore and carries projected investment potential of approximately INR 1.15 lakh crore. Officials stated that the development is expected to support freight movement, industrial activity and multimodal connectivity in western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region. The project includes a dry port, warehousing facilities, container handling infrastructure and an integrated transport hub connected to rail, metro and road networks near Boraki railway station in Greater Noida.

The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation is advancing the Multi Modal Logistics Hub and Multi Modal Transport Hub project in Dadri, Greater Noida, as part of the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme aimed at strengthening freight movement and integrated transport infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh.

The project, located near the junction of the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors, is being developed across approximately 849 acres for the logistics hub and around 360 acres for the transport hub component. According to project details released by NICDC, the combined development cost is estimated at about INR 4,034 crore.

Officials stated that the integrated infrastructure project carries a projected investment potential of nearly INR 1.15 lakh crore and is expected to generate around one lakh jobs through industrial, logistics and transport-related activities linked to the development.

The logistics hub has been planned as a multi-modal freight handling and warehousing facility intended to support manufacturing, export-oriented industries and cargo movement across western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region. The project includes provisions for container terminals, mechanised warehousing, customs clearance infrastructure, freight stations and cargo handling systems.

NICDC stated that the logistics component is expected to function as a dry port connected to the Dedicated Freight Corridor network. The site also has connectivity to major regional road infrastructure including the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway, Yamuna Expressway and Eastern Peripheral Expressway.

The transport hub component is being planned near Boraki railway station and is intended to integrate multiple modes of passenger transit, including rail, metro and bus services. Project documents indicate that the development includes an Inter State Bus Terminal, Local Bus Terminal, metro connectivity infrastructure, commercial spaces, retail areas and hospitality facilities.

The project site is also expected to benefit from proximity to the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, which is under development in Gautam Buddh Nagar district. Officials indicated that the location has been selected to strengthen regional logistics and transport integration across industrial corridors and urban centres in the National Capital Region.

Separate reports released in recent months indicated that a government panel had also cleared a larger INR 5,942 crore multi-modal logistics centre proposal at Dadri under a public-private partnership framework. The proposal reportedly includes phased development of logistics infrastructure, cold storage facilities and freight management systems.

The Dadri logistics and transport hub forms part of the broader industrial corridor infrastructure programme being implemented across multiple states to improve industrial connectivity, supply-chain infrastructure and integrated freight movement. NICDC has identified the project as one of the major logistics infrastructure developments linked to the Dedicated Freight Corridor network and planned industrial nodes in northern India.
