BASF has announced plans to set up a global service hub and a global digital hub in Hyderabad through its Global Business Services arm, with operations expected to commence in the second quarter of the coming year. The facilities will support functions such as finance, human resources, supply chain, regulatory services, and internal consulting across the company’s global network. The announcement follows an exchange of a Letter of Intent with Telangana authorities. The hubs will form part of BASF’s global delivery network and are expected to contribute to the expansion of Hyderabad’s position as a centre for global capability centres, which have seen steady growth in recent years.
BASF announced in the past week that it will establish a global service hub and a global digital hub in Hyderabad through its Global Business Services organisation, with operations scheduled to begin in the second quarter of the coming year. The development follows the exchange of a Letter of Intent between Telangana Life Sciences and BASF representatives, in the presence of the state’s IT minister, outlining the company’s plans to expand its operational footprint in India.
The proposed hubs will operate under BASF Global Business Services Private Ltd and are intended to function as integrated centres supporting the company’s global operations. These facilities will cater to a range of business functions, including finance, human resources, supply chain management, regulatory services, and in-house consulting. The move forms part of BASF’s broader strategy to streamline operations and enhance coordination across its international business units.
According to the official communication, the Hyderabad-based hubs will contribute to standardising processes and improving operational efficiency across BASF’s global network. They are also expected to support digital transformation initiatives by integrating technology-led solutions into core business functions. As part of BASF’s global delivery network, the centres will enable coordinated operations across regions, strengthening the company’s backend and support capabilities.
The establishment of these facilities adds to Hyderabad’s growing profile as a destination for global capability centres. In recent remarks, Telangana’s IT minister indicated that the city has witnessed the addition of more than 75 such centres over the past year, placing it among the faster-growing hubs in the country for multinational corporations establishing support and innovation centres.
The minister further indicated that the state government is targeting the addition of over 100 new global capability centres within the current year, alongside the creation of more than one lakh jobs. The BASF hubs are expected to align with this broader expansion of knowledge-driven and technology-oriented infrastructure in the city.
While the company has not disclosed investment figures or specific real estate details related to the project, the announcement highlights continued occupier interest in Hyderabad’s commercial office market, particularly from multinational firms seeking to establish integrated service and digital operations.
