Synopsis

Rays Power Infra Pvt. Ltd. has commissioned 1.1 GW of solar capacity during FY26 across Karnataka, Rajasthan and Gujarat, marking its highest annual execution to date. The addition has taken its cumulative commissioned portfolio beyond 2.4 GWp. The company is expanding its EPC order book and independent power producer portfolio while exploring hybrid renewable solutions, battery storage and green hydrogen. The milestone comes amid India’s push towards 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity, with integrated developers scaling execution and diversifying across renewable segments.

Rays Power Infra Pvt. Ltd. has commissioned 1.1 GW of solar capacity during FY26, marking its highest annual execution and taking its cumulative installed portfolio beyond 2.4 GWp, the company said in a statement released in the past week.

The projects were executed across Karnataka, Rajasthan and Gujarat, reinforcing the company’s presence in key renewable energy markets. The addition forms part of a broader expansion strategy as India accelerates efforts to achieve its non-fossil fuel capacity target of 500 GW.

The company indicated that the latest commissioning milestone reflects sustained growth in its engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) business, alongside expansion of its independent power producer (IPP) portfolio. It further stated that it is scaling its project pipeline and exploring adjacent segments such as hybrid solar-wind projects, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and round-the-clock renewable energy solutions for utilities and commercial and industrial consumers.

Senior management stated that the commissioning of 1.1 GW within a single financial year represents a key phase in the company’s operational growth, supported by execution capabilities developed over the past decade. They added that the company’s cumulative footprint now positions it to play a larger role in India’s clean energy transition.

Headquartered in Jaipur, Rays Power Infra operates as an integrated renewable energy platform with capabilities spanning project development, EPC, IPP and operations and maintenance. Its business model includes co-development of renewable projects, where the company undertakes land aggregation, grid connectivity arrangements and regulatory approvals before transferring special purpose vehicles to customers, followed by EPC and long-term operational support.

As of the end of FY26, the company reported a diversified renewable energy portfolio of approximately 12 GW, including solar, wind and hybrid assets across domestic and international markets.

The expansion into hybrid and storage-based solutions reflects broader trends in the renewable energy sector, where developers are increasingly focusing on grid stability and round-the-clock power supply. Battery storage and hybrid configurations are gaining importance as utilities seek to manage intermittency associated with solar and wind generation.

The company’s growth aligns with increasing investment in renewable infrastructure, driven by policy support, rising energy demand and decarbonisation targets. Large-scale project execution across multiple states continues to be a key factor in scaling capacity addition within the sector.

The milestone underscores continued activity in India’s solar EPC segment, where developers are expanding portfolios and diversifying offerings to align with evolving energy requirements and regulatory frameworks.
